Chapter 1: New Prospects

The Wild West is full of dangers, and not just roaming Indian Tribes, or bandits out to steal your gold. Strange things go bump in the night in the unexplored reaches of the wilds. Native tribes have performed mystical rituals for generations to keep the dangers at bay, but western expansion is pushing them out, and the lines between worlds is forever being blurred like the scenery out of a train window.

A mix of Call of Cthulhu, Deadlands, Aces and Eights, this weird wild west game has a little bit of everything.

Delton eyes the rifleman on the roof. Do it, doc. Pop him off. Don't raise your rifle and think too hard about it, just fire, quick as you can.

But shooting paper targets and clay pigeons didn't make Delt a tactician, not like Tobias. He's right, the Devil-marked trio are at a disadvantage. "Y-yeah. If we can climb a building, even better."

He looks for a building they can use as a vantage point. "This way, 'fore one of 'em turns their head."

A nearby saloon offers a second story porch you could position yourselves on. You have about a few more moments to decide before luck is going to turn against you and someone is going to notice your approach.

Delton leads the group to the nearest door into that saloon, bent on holding the element of surprise for advantage on the gang that had been lying in wait to kill them. He had once stitched someone up on the upper floor of this saloon, and seen the other building from the window of the patient's lent room. (Hmm, which window was it...?)

Tobias tries to hunch his shoulders enough to obscure his obvious tallness from the scofflaws, and moves quietly into the saloon right on Delton's heels. Once inside he tries to look around for stairs leading up to the second floor. He would rather just go up directly, but he also might have to buy something first, or even rent a room if it's not just a communal balcony. He tries to figure out what those facts might be.

Without hesitation Jimmy walks up to the barkeep, "How much for a room?" Jimmy wastes no time haggling or bartering with the man, "preferably by the front if possible." Jimmy waits patiently for the man to act.
We should try to get a room balcony side, so we can have more cover and use the windows.

"Two bits!"

You rent yourselves a room for a few coins, street side, with balcony.

Up you go and there you slip into the room accosted. You check the windows, peeking through the curtains ,and there is in fact a balcony over the front porch outside.

"Ha! Our first stroke of good luck this entire time." He slowly tests the handle for opening up their path to the balcony, not wanting a heavily rusted hinge to cause someone to glance up at an inopportune time. He peeks out as best he can to see if the view they thought they would have lived up to their hopes. Getting the jump on those who intended to snipe them would indeed be a good reversal of fortunes.

Delton proceeds behind Tobias with his weapon out, ready to get the drop on the sniper perching on the roof, or get a shot in right away if they got spotted first. Lord, forgive me, Lord, be with us...

The door opens without much complaint, and from the balcony, moving slowly out you can see you have a pretty decent view on most of the men, there might be one that will be trouble, but you couldn't ask for more considering your luck. The thugs remain watching the road and not your balcony.

Tobias straightens his glasses and takes a knee out on the balcony to steady his aim. He grumbles silently that his dueling skills are rather useless since he can't hit them with a sword from up here. But he is a realist and doesn't feel like dying just because this isn't his best skill. He does his best to aim with his pistol, keeping his breathing controlled.

With a whisper he quietly communicates with his companions. "I'll take the nearest guy. I'm not great at shooting, but I might get lucky."
Only a 30% with Pistols. Lol. 75% with my sword. But running out into the middle of the street swinging would only help us by consuming some of their ammo taking me down. :P So whatever is the easiest shot, that's the one I'll take.
