Lorenzo nods. For now, he decides to trust the goblin, as the creature might be of help here in this underground complex. He keeps his wizard staff ready and is ready to move, keeping to the middle of the group.

Your gnomish friend nods, and goes all stealth mode. He slips on silent feed, ears open, eyes peeled, forward ready to retreat a he scouts the way weapon in hand.

Grogg keeps his word to his gnomish companion. He waits what seems to be a reasonable amount of time to let the actually stealthy man take the lead, then steadily follows, his weapons at the ready. He intends to keep his promise of swift backup, not wanting to let the little man down.

Which way are you going?
official game map, ignore markers, you're in the common room with the table and chairs (left side edge of image)

I believe we were going through the common room toward the slave pens and the crypts. Didn't we get to see the inside of the barracks?

Backstabber checks the barracks door right there first, south of the common room (one more time?) then he decides to go north from the Nothic where there are crates and barrels and searching about that area. Before opening doors and heading up stairs he makes sure there are no more enemies at his back -- a weak point.
Check Barracks a the bottom of the stairs in the SW corner of the map. Then north of the bridge where we almost have it opened up.

Lets do this level before we go to another area.

The deep gnome leads the way with Yuk Yuk staying behind the others.

Opening the door to the barracks, the group finds four roughly built wooden bunks, with heaped-up blankets and dirty dishes scattered about. A strong smell of unwashed bodies and rotten meat fills the air. After a quick search under and within the smelly blankets and bed, they discover nothing of value. The three dead bugbears used this room as their barracks and carried their valuables with them.

With Sunny in the lead, he moves to the southern bridge and Yuk Yuk runs up to him and pulls him back, "No use bridge. We small. We cross. Others too big." Yuk Yuk points at others and uses his hands to indicate tall/big folk. Checking the ropes, the deep gnome comes to the conclusion that the goblin is correct. The southern bridge would support him and Yuk Yuk, but it would most likely collapse under the weight of the others. So the group heads northwards to the northern bridge.

At the northern section of the room, you spots a hallway leading back to the common room with another door which the thugs claimed was "the boss's room."

Being wary once more, Sunny checks the northern bridge and finds that it appears most likely strong enough to hold their weight. As Sunny inspects the sturdiness of the bridge, he finds a dead, half-eaten human male corpse at the bottom of the crevasse about 15-20 feet below. The clothing looks more like a villager than anyone associated with the Redbrands. Additionally, Sunny's eyes catches the glimpse of something hidden within a dark cubbyhole under the bridge at the bottom of the crevasse.
Giving time to assess.. We haven't scouted the northern room (one above with crates and barrels yet).
options
1) go to boss's door (west hallway)
2a) cross bridge and go north
2b) cross bridge and go south - way thugs said to get to slave pens
3) go down in nothic lair, inspect body and/or cubbyhold

"Hold on, the bridge is bad..." with a sign the always depressed gnome make you avoid the southern bridge. He then points out the corpse and the cubby, "I suppose you'll want me to risk searching the nothic's lair. Ahhhhh, ok." He checks for an easy way down, and if he can find one he climbs down to inspect the corpse and potential treasure cache.

Sunny sighs and then proceeds to climb down. Yuk Yuk stands over the edge looking at him. "Nobody mess with one-eye," the goblin mutters. "Yuk Yuk hate one-eye. Scary."

When the deep gnome reaches the bottom of the cave, he shivers at the unnaturally cold air. The half-eaten corpse appears to have been stripped of any possessions and thrown into the crevasse to feed the nothic. The stench is overwhelming.

Turning his attention to the cubbyhole, Sunny discovers a battered wooden chest. The hinges don't work properly, so it's not fully closed. A quick inspection doesn't reveal any physical traps. Glancing through a crack, he spots some shiny coins and gems and a large object.

With a glance up at the others, he looks back and opens the chest revealing...

60 sp
120 gp
five malachite gems (15 gp each)
two potions of healing
a spell scroll of augury.
longsword with a fancy hilt in a silver-chased scabbard

Since you're there, you can get dibs on whatever you pocket and then reveal to others

Lorenzo waits, keeping his eyes open for trouble from the north.
