Is it possible to create a poll on this forum? If so, how?

Yes. You need to have special access to do so. Which forum? Are you GM of that forum?

I've not set up the forum yet, it would be in a potential new game that I would be GM of, with options for the players to choose the direction the group takes during character generation.

If required, do I ask yourself for the options?

Once the forum is set up, you'll get GM permissions which should allow you to create polls, etc. Any of the admins (me, V, Trog) can help get you going once the game has been approved, forum created, etc.
