A turd of a film, wrapped in elegant paper.

It wasn't that bad.
Heck, they gave the director a full 3 movie trilogy (not counting this movie) of his own choosing before the movie was even released.

Really? What did you not like about it? I won't claim it was a masterpiece, but I thought it was one of the better Star Wars films.

Yeah, I'm in same boat as Muskrat. There's never been an actual REALLY GOOD Star Wars movie.
To me Rogue One is probably the best made and written and acted movie (could have been better but it worked). Even the originals were total campy, cheesy and not really that great (besides nostalgia).
This movie is definitely on par with all of the other SW movies, definitely better than any of the prequels which were dumpster fires.

Re: Star Wars: Last Jedi Spoiler Thread
It was probably the worst Star Wars moment since Gungans.
Leia reaching out from space and pulling herself back into the ship? It looked like 1977 Star Wars, only Lucas didn't do anything that stupid. Luke's character completely ruined.
Battle of Hoth redux.
The attacking First Order just keeps shooting at the cruiser, when it could just launch Tie Fighters like always? Also, their shots curve, which is so laser-like (Lol).
Snoke killed without any explanation of who/what he is?
The idea that Luke thought about killing Kylo, but their point of view differed, and so it changed everything was beyond silly. Poorly acted throughout of course. The whole Poe's gotta save everyone, but continually fucks up is funny, but really repetitive and annoying.
"Hey, there's one guy that can do this job! Let's go find him! Wait, there's another guy that can do this job, just happens to be in the same place we're going. Release these majestic creatures!!!!"
Total turd sandwich.

Re: Star Wars: Last Jedi Spoiler Thread
Tet and I rarely agree on things like this. We both agree on this. That says something!
The tension/plot was so stupid, the if Finn & Rose can hyperspace jump to some planet far far away, release the horses, then come back with random hacker who does honestly very little, then why the hell can't the First Order just hyperspace jump a few others hips IN FRONT of the rebels?!
I started to write a bunch of things, but deleted them. Enjoy it if you enjoy it, but it was a wreck of a film that did not build on Force Awakens at all, and now Star Wars has more shitty films than decent ones. How is Star Wars still a thing?

I'm completely in agreement with Vardaen and TetNak. I think the reason I was so disappointed is because there was some really good potential there, but they never built upon it. Or built upon it so little, it just served to frustrate me all the more.
