A well-deserved rest

"Right, right, we move." The goblin keeps up with the others, not particularly looking at where he's going except following their heels. He's too absorbed with their new prize. "Well, it's a crystal, for sure. Um, nothing I've seen before." He puts it up to his eyes, almost touching. "Strange symbols, not in any language or whatever I've seen. But from the auras it looks like it may protect from people messing with your mind. And for whatever reason, it may speed up healing as well. Useful little thing."

[Muskrat]

"Speed up healing?" says Merisiel. "Like from rashes? Maybe the boss down here knew more about the rashes than he was letting on to his boys." She looks ahead. "I guess we may find out soon enough."

[Grimbold]

You follow one of the caverns the man indicated and at times, you can actually hear water flowing just inside the cave walls. After about half an hour, you can see some light ahead.

[Muskrat]

Merisiel whispers to the others, "Let me sneak ahead and have a look, in case there's any unpleasant surprises."

Carver nods, he readies himself for a fight, hiking up his belt and readying his weapons. "Don't do anything stupid....well stupider."

[Muskrat]

Merisiel smiles and laughs briefly, then whispers, "Yeah, a bit late for nothing stupid," before moving out.

The goblin snorts at the wry humor, as they're not exactly doing the smartest stuff in the world here. If he wasn't still itching like a madman, he would have been more interested in just moving on to the next town, rather than running around down here.

Regardless he's going to take the chance and start wearing their looted Amulet, and following along behind Merisiel.

Yay, I'm back! Let's get this rolling again!

The light proves to be a swarm of glowing beetles, and the trio continue on their way. Fumbus wears the amulet and it feels slightly warm and soothing on his breast.

Moving you along for more action!

The heroes spend some hours exploring this part of the caves and find a complex where, long ago, a tribe of orcs must have lived. They move along an underground lake, the orc living quarters and their ancient orc temple. They rest, tired from the journey, and sleep a few hours. Fumbus has found some ingredients on the way and mixes them together with some stuff he is carrying to make new bombs.

Merisiel, thinking out loud, says, "So, we suspect someone or something is infecting the water that feeds the hot spring above. I wonder if this is the same water." She dips the pinky finger of her left hand in, testing the temperature of the water.

The goblin watches with sick fascination as Merisiel actually touches the water. "Careful, the water down here might be even worse than in the Baths. Do ... do you feel anything? More itching?"
