Carefully, the heroes advance up the corridor. It is not as steep as the other one, but it still goes slightly up. After a few minutes, they find a wide corridor going off to the right, leading to a heavy stone door after 30m. The smaller corridor which they came through also continues straight on. Strange sounds, soft, eerie voices and some sort of thumping come from the door.

The goblin gets the shivers, his green skin looking a little paler. "I'm liking this less and less." He heads for the wide corridor heading to the heavy stone door, but cautiously. "If they're villagers kidnapped or something, that's one thing. But if there are 'things that should never be released', then I'm officially freaking out."

Meirisiel shrugs and puts her ear to the door, to see if she can better hear what's going on inside.

Merisiel advances down the corridor as she is suddenly grabbed by some force, hurled to the ceiling and dropped to the ground. The others stop a few steps behind her and only feel the surge of magical power.
The elf is hurt and dizzy, but not seriously wounded.

Merisiel cautiously sits up but does not stand up. "I'd say they have the place guarded," she notes dryly. "This lot seems like trouble."

She considers her next course of action. She looks at the door for a sensible seeming time to see if anyone comes out. If no one does, she cautiously crawls towards it, prepared to freeze if she feels the magic activate again. If she does make it to the door, she sets her ear to it to hear what is going on.

The alchemist tries to identify the source of the disturbance. A magic trap? A hidden wizard? He assumes the trap idea, but checks to make sure. Especially so he can avoid tripping it himself. That looked unpleasant.

Merisiel gets up, and slowly steps towards the door. Suddenly she turns around and gapes in surprise and horror in Fumbus' and Carver's direction!

"... okay, that trap seems to be able to reset immediately. Throwing back anyone who gets close to that door." Fumbus picks up a sizeable rock and chucks it at the door, testing to see if it only rejects living things, or even rubble will be knocked away.

Desperation on her face, Merisiel tries climbing up the wall, aiming to get as high up as she can.

There are cracks and rocky protrusions in the walls, so it is not difficult, and not very high - Merisiel climbs up trying to get as close as possible to the ceiling.

Fumbus throws a rock towards the door and it falls, harmlessly, on the ground, as it should. It seems that only living things are affected by the trap.
