Merisiel nods at Carver, drawing her throwing knives so as to be able to hit the guards as they come into view.

Fumbus checks his pack, noting that he doesn't have an unending supply of those fire potions. He instead switches his dogslicer to his main hand, ready to whack anyone who threatens them.

Carver retreats and backs up towards Fumbus. Then the men come into view, the first one armed with a shield and shortsword, the next one with a big hammer, the third one carries a sword and the last one another shortsword. They are ragged, rough and dirty. "Vosten? Is that you? Then they see you and, for a moment, are surprised and need a moment to recover their wits.
You get a surprise round!I will roll init next round.

The men didn't come as far into the cave as he hoped, but Carver is not without options. He draws from his belt a throwing hammer, and grabs hold and flips it end over end at the lead man hoping to knock him in the head with it. Then at once he draws his great axe, two handed, this is no time for his smaller blades.

Fumbus doesn't want to just run out there and get mobbed. He's cocky and a bit of a daredevil, but he isn't stupid. Instead he continues to hide amongst the rocks of the cave, waiting for the men to come closer.
Stealth (+6) to stay hidden. Want to charge at them once they're actually close enough to move in and attack (don't want to move either there then get swamped 4v1).

Merisiel steps out of the shadows and throws a knife at the first man, the throw was a bit hasty, and it bounces off his shield. The elf quickly draws a second one and this time the thrown blade sinks into the man's shoulder.

Carver stays put, but he takes out a hammer and throws it into the man's face, sinking the pointy end into his skull. The man drops instantly. Then the big half orc takes out his big axe.

Fumbus fondles his weapon, hiding and waiting to charge.

Merisiel: stride, attack r7+7=14, miss. attack: r16+2=18, hit for r2+4=6 damage

Carver: draw hammer, throw: r10+7=17 hit for r5+4=9 damage.

Fumbus: hide: r8+7=15.

Next round: Init.
Merisiel (perception): r9+6=15
Carver (perception): r1+6=7

Merisiel draws two more daggers and throws them in rapid succession at the thug in front of her. "We got this far by killing your buddies," she calls out. "You guys might want to consider surrendering before you follow this guy," she finishes gesturing at the dead body in front of her.
Action 1: Interact: Draw daggers
Action 2: Attack with thrown dagger vs. nearest thug; +5 to hit, 1d4 damage
Action 3: Attack with thrown dagger vs. nearest thug; +5 to hit, 1d4 damage

The goblin really would have preferred their enemies to be closer, but looks like he is going to have to rely on his bombs again, even though he is trying to preserve them. Well, he still has a few left, so he's still got his options. He dashes from cover, another fire potion arcing towards the surprised men in the cave.
Move 2xN, 1xNE (now within 20 feet of lead man). Throw another Fire Potion (+6 to hit, 1d8 fire & 1 persistent fire damage).

Merisiel draws two daggers and throws them at the closest man in quick succession. The first one suprises the enemy, and he brings up his shield too late. So the blade buries itself deep into the man's shoulder. The second one bounces off the shield harmlessly.

Fumbus throws a firebomb and lobs it directly on the man's face, where it explodes. He drops his sword and shield and covers his burning face falling on his knees, then keels over, dead.

Then two men charge Merisiel. One slashes her thigh with a dagger, while the other's clumsy scimitar strike is easily dodged.
Merisiel:
Attack r17+7=24 for 1d4+2=4+2=6 damage
Attack r2+3=5, miss (dagger is an agile weapon, so the second attack only gets -4)

Fumbus: r20+7=27, and a critical hit for 6+ 1persistent x2 is 12 plus 1 persistent. Dead.

Man: stride, stride, attack Merisiel with scimitar: r12+3=15 vs 18. miss.
Man: stride, stride, attack Merisiel with dagger: r17+3=20 vs 18, hit for 1d4+1=2+1=3
Merisiel 12/15 hp
Man: dead.
