Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
"Hmm. If it's a coin he wants, then there's only one currency in this place that counts: soul coins. So..." He gives Tome and Morneth a glance each. "Want to roshambo for who pays?"

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
As the group discusses the ferryman, the cloaked figure remains silent and still. While the group is still far away from the ferry, the figure doesn't turn towards the group or appear to care or be aware of their presence.

"No need," Morneth says, pulling out her own coin. "We are in this together, I suppose." If she is bothered by the spending of a coin with a mostly good soul, she shows no sign.

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
Ryld smirks and says, "That's the spirit." He looks at the ferryman. "Doesn't take much notice of the living, maybe? Let me see if I can get his attention."
He strides up to the ferryman, and pulls the locket from his pocket. "Excuse me. Have you ever seen the mortal in this locket?" The half-drow shows the ferryman the picture in the locket.

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
The cloaked ferryman turns to reveal himself to the eager Ryld. Under it's hood, an emotionless and bare skull of a skeleton remains slient, unable to speak. As the half-drow approaches, the creature holds out its hands possibly seeking payment. An hour glass with the time expired hangs from it's waist.
Coming closer to the boat, the group can see the vessel is big enough for all to sit comfortable. There is only a single rowing oar held by the ferryman.

"I don't think he's interested in speech." Morneth begins to hand over her coin, suppressing a shiver as she does so.

The ferryman takes the coin and the group watches as it dissolves in it's hands. He takes a step away from the boarding area of the vessel to allow the others to board and silently waits for direction.

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
Tome. As silent as the Ferry Man boards the boat and takes a seat. He scribbles in his book, an image of the Ferry Man and Boat, and seems lost in his chronicles as he does so.

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
The paladin bows respectfully to the Ferryman before boarding. While he himself serves a much higher power, this is a being worthy of respect and recognition, and refusing to show that respect would be dishonorable.

Chapter 1: From The Highway to Hell
When the group boards the ferry, the dark figure turns over his hour glass and the sand begins to fall from the top to the bottom. This is most likely their "timer" for the ferry. The figure waits for a destination to be revealed.
