Chakossa nods, and bares his own teeth. He growls something over the wind <Shiirywook: "Get ready to fight. Maybe we need to defend ourselves.> The black Wookiee gazes out into the snow, readying his Wookiee bowcaster.

Mal takes a knee and tries to get a visual on anything within sight with his macrobinoculars. "Let's hope we aren't walking into an ambush." The former soldier flatly says without emotion.

Muzhy draws his lightsaber, but waits to turn it on. There was no point in drawing needless attention to them. As he waits for the possible attack, he tries reaching out with the Force to gain a sense of their stalker's next move.

Some draw weapons but Mal draws his binos. He holds them up to his freezing face and can see snow swirling around before his eyes. Its impossible to see, even with the tech of the binos. Its no help.
The sense that something is circling you can't be shaken. There is a swoop through the storm before you and even the most oblvious among the group can see and feel it. Something very large just circled the party, its getting closer with each pass and growing braver.
One of you spots a large shadow, fur covered, perhaps 4 meters high rear up, then a roar like some sort of bear, but much more violent. The great shape drops back to all fours and while you still can't see the beast clearly its moving in for the kill from the left side of the group, where Muzhy and Chakossa are on the 'front lines'.

Mal shouts, "Fall back!" With his rifle in hand, he waits for the target to become visible - not wanting to accidentally kill an otherwise, albeit unlikely, friendly encounter. Thinking to himself, "I should have bought those grenades a few months ago."

Muzhy lights up his lightsaber and swings menacingly with it at the beast, but deliberately not hitting. As he does so, he lets out a loud roar. He's hoping to frighten the creature into retreating--most animals won't place their lives at high risk for food. Unless they're starving and desperate. Muzhy hopes this is a normal animal that isn't starving and desperate.

Chakossa growls something and then aims his bowcaster at the beast.
<Shyriiwook>"Watch out, it does not seem friendly! If it comes closer, shoot it."
If it does come closer, he shoots at it once.

Naomi pulls her own weapon from its hidden holster, emerald blade igniting with the tell-tale snap-hiss of an ancient Jedi weapon. The Togruta woman reaches out with her senses, eyes closed, trying to ascertain where the attack will come from.

Lightsabers flare to life and Muzhy and Naomi swing then as a warning, the flare of the weapons seems to scare the beast, whatever it was, off. For the moment it is gone, how long that will last you can only guess. So you hurry through the storm hoping the creature will go after other prey!

When the unknown being retreats, Mal suggested, "Let's get moving." The former soldier then pushes forward.
