"Somebody paid for all that work", the bodyguard lets the SMG swing from its strap, taking the makeshift shield unless someone else offers, "and they'll likely want it back, maybe a bargaining chip?" She looks at her companions, "You know, if case we meet something heavy."

Chapter 1: A Night to Remember

Post by Hungry Xenomorph » Mon Jun 29, 2020 11:43 pm

The way back to the vehicle is slow and treacherous, carrying the unconscious child and heavy reinforced door slows progress but probes useful when a few stray shots find themselves embedding themselves in the doors or pinging of the surrounding area before going off into the darkness, after what feels like hours the group reaches the van, the surroundings are quiet enough, though the blood puddles and spent casings tell a different story. The large group of people squeeze into the van while Robert gets in the driver's seat, the kid is placed on the back with the equipment and most of the Perturbator crew. Robert turns the engine and the van comes to life, without any recon exiting the area successfully will be a crap shoot at best, there are only two options out, south or east, and by the looks of things neither seems like the safest of choices.

Tojiro sighs heavily at the, well, not safety, but shelter of the groups tour van. He grabs the mediocre first aid kit from it's compartment, "Hey, someone mind gluing my forehead shut? I'm running low on blood to wipe out of my eye." He smirks wryly as he passes out alcohol wipes and medical tape to the walking wounded of the ragtag band.

He tosses a roll of duct tape and a gauze pad to whoever is sitting shotgun, "Take care of the driver, neh?" He turns to Tanya, holding up some supplies, "Bandage buddies?"

Xander got into the back of the van and takes a deep sigh. Tonight was just meant to be a party but everything has gotten a bit more wild than he expected. He slipped a hand under his helmet and wiped his brow, looking over at the passed out child, "Poor kid.."

Robert doesn't second-guess his decision, peeling out to drive south as that seems one of the options. "Hang on everybody, this could get rough." He accelerates as fast as he can, choosing speed over attempts at stealth to clear the area as soon as possible.
Choosing 'South'. Going for speed over stealth or maneuverability.

Sliding in to ride shotgun, Ascia catches the makeshift bandage, tearing strips of tape before dropping it to her lap. "Hold still for just a second," the gauze and tape assembly is spread over one of the wounds. She repeats the motion a couple more times, despite Robert's and the van's motion. "All better," the merc sounds keyed up, still friendly, but running at peak efficiency. "Keep checking your feeds," she says to nobody in particular, "it'd be best if we knew what was going on ASAP."

Robert puts the van into gear, the engine comes alive and everyone is push back by the van's drastic motion, the way south is littered by the remnants of brutal fighting dodging out of the way of burning wrecks and bodies becomes so common Robert almost becomes accustomed to it before a large shadow is cast over the van accompanying the AV is a fast terrestrial vehicle, while not armed it constantly tries to pit maneuver the van, Robert's skillfully avoids the rams as the AV is flying low overhead giving chase to the van. Machine gun fire pings off the concrete behind and around the van, Robert somehow managing to avoid the enemy's bird fire. In Between burst Lia peaks her head out and opens fire on the vehicle behind, the first volley misses entirely, Lia retreats back into the relative safety of the van cursing her aim. The pursuit hears up as the AV tries to get closer to and fire upon the vehicle Robert managing to avoid the brunt of the attack as only a few shots ring off the back bumper, once again Lia peaks out and opens fire, the shots going everywhere, luckily for Lia one of the bullets hits a tire on the vehicle behind, the tire burst aggressively and the vehicle spins out. Robert skillfully manages to build a gap between the van and the AV before ducking into a tunnel and losing the tail. The coast is clear ahead for a couple of miles until an Arasaka checkpoint comes into view.

Robert slows down, behind him Xander and Tojiro scramble to cover the unconscious child as best they can, Tojiro covering the child with equipment from the back of the van, while Xander uses his trusty case to make a screen blocking the view into the back of the van. The van stops by a heavily armed corporate guard, the guard signals Robert to lower the window. Without saying anything the guard looks inside the van, while another one circles around it. After a few tense moments the guard lets the van through and everyone inside breathes a sigh of relieve. The rest of the trip is quiet, not many are in the mood to talk after everything that they have experienced. The group drops off the Perturabator crew at their place before retreating to Xander's apartment.

With the adrenaline gone the group steps into the lavish apartment, Tojiro carries the still unconscious kid and lays him down on the couch.
what do you want to do with the kid?

Tojiro slumps against the couch, sighing heavily as the last of the adrenal shakes and twitches work their way through his system, "Next person in the kitchen, throw me something wet and cold. Don't care what..."

He hangs his head with his eyes shut for another minute or two, then pulls his tool bag closer, turning around to take the logic probe to the kid's implants. "Better check Jr out here for bombs, bangs, and crawly fangs, neh? Last thing we need is a fatal freak out."

Lia does a customary sweep of the apartment for crazy fans, kidnappers, and debt collectors. "We're good," she heads straight to the kitchen, loads up on bottles and distributes them. She flops onto a couch and begins shaving the label off her bottle with a knife. "If you need him held down, shout." She looks drained, the adrenaline high gone.

Tojiro seems to have a better handle on this particular tech than Robert, so he puts himself in an assistant's role. He helps set out the tool kit in a logical order, handing them over as needed. He helps when possible with observations, but otherwise stay's out of Tojiro's way.
I'm quite good with Basic Tech (+13 total) and Cybertech (+10 total). So can consult on that if needed. But no Medical training.
