Exchanging pleasantries with Garth of Izar
The standard power layout of Starfleet ships immediately comes into his mind, creating checklists of sections to check to determine what to repair, what to replace, and more importantly, what to ignore for now. They just need to get it running, and maybe limp it back to stardock for salvage, not get it back to fighting shape.
"Uh, sir, do we have the technical schematics on the King in Prussia? If there are any non-standard components or power routings, it would make our work a lot faster if we knew of them ahead of time."

As far as Zea's aware, she's being picked for medical duty, should someone take a bad fall or they encounter any survivors left behind. Perhaps she's still distracted by her recent failings, but she asks for clarification, "Was the evacuator one of ours? Is that how we became aware?"
If not, then someone must have activated a distress beacon, and that means - other than said beacon being bait for more abductees - potentially more survivors still onboard. Maybe someone got lucky and hid.

The commodore answers questions in the order they are offered. He turns to Alik first:
”We have no schematics of the ship, but we have scanned it extensively. It follows a standard Starfleet layout. The bridge seems to be where you’d expect it to be. As for power conduits, that is something you will have to figure out on your own, perhaps referencing ships of similar layout or design.”
He then turns to Zea:
”The ship that warped in, we presume, was another intelligence vessel. It had a Starfleet signature, but it didn’t announce itself or state it’s intentions. It just evacuated its people, ran its cleanup operation, then warped out. We assume if it was a hostile action, the King in Prussia would have raised an alarm to other members of the taskforce. Instead the King in Prussia went completely silent.”
Having answered your immediate questions, he continues with mission details:
”The plan is to beam you to the bridge. Once the bridge is secure, we will beam in a warp generator. You plug it in, establish power, then see if the computer is still operational. We will move on from there. Life support has been off for several hours but the environment is still contained. The atmosphere is a little thin and the temperature is down, but it is certainly still livable if there are still survivors. For your comfort (and as a precaution) we will send you in with environmental suits. We will also send you in with a security detail; as I explained, the King in Prussia was attacked by Klingon boarding parties. We don’t know how successful they were.”
He points to Alik:
”Engineering will establish power, see if the computer still works, assess other ship systems, and salvage any information about their mission and what they were doing. Don’t try to restart the warp core. The portable generator should be sufficient to run everything we need.”
He Points to Zea:
”Medical will reestablish and monitor life support, look for and treat any survivors, bag and tag any non-survivors. Take special care of any Klingon bodies you come across. Our medical knowledge of Klingons is 40 years old and due of an update. You will also try to salvage information.”
“Any other questions?”

The salvage operation seems to have been well thought out, which shouldn't be a surprise since their Commanding Officer is effectively the logistics master of the Fleet. And, Alik assumes, has competent advisors for areas outside of his expertise.
"Understood, sir. Re-establish power and operations to the bridge. Engineering priority is information salvage from the computer, while medical priority is search and rescue of Federation personnel and recovery of Klingon bodies and belongings. We're on it."

Commodore Singh nods and dismisses Cadets Craig and Drennan, as he has many other projects to coordinate.
Zea and Alik change into environmental suits and inventory the equipment that will be sent down with them. Zea changes into a science suit and Alik in an engineering suit. This is the first time Alik is wearing an environmental suit since his planetfall toward Calsa. Zea knows this and is keeping a close eye on his mental and emotional status.
When the two cadets enter the teleporter room, they find cadets Weathers and Campeador waiting for them. Campeador is accompanied by two security personnel, and is obviously your promised security detail. Weathers is there to lend her computer and navigation skills to help gather information.
Campeador suggests that he and his team beam down first, secure the bridge, then have everyone else follow.

Drennan agrees. She looks around the room to get a read on everyone. "That sounds good to me. Craig?"

The engineer nods. "Campeador, you know your business, I trust your judgment. No objections here." Given that they'll have some time to wait for security to secure the bridge, he takes the time to check in with himself. Paying attention to any urgent emotions, his breathing, how his body feels in the suit. So far, so good. But brains are notoriously finicky, so it's possible he might get triggered by something later on. All he can do is to try to keep his cool so he doesn't panic for no good reason.

The three-man security detail steps onto the transporter pad. They’re wearing combat environmental suits and are armed with hand lasers. In a flash they are gone and the rest of the away-team climb onto the transporter pad and wait. Alik rechecks the tools stashed in the tool compartments on his engineer environmental suit. He has packed a tool for every possible task he can think to face on this trip, and there are many of them. Most of his tools come from his own personal set. Zea is carrying a bicorder and a combat medical satchel. Cadet Weathers, whose inclusion on the team seems like an afterthought, isn’t carrying anything, but she offers to help Alik carry his tools.
Seconds tick by as the team waits for the green light from security. You wonder how long it takes to secure the bridge of an abandoned ship. Then you begin to worry that something is wrong. Finally Campeador’s voice comes through:
“Bridge secure. Proceed with personnel and equipment transport.”
And in a flash, you are gone.
The bridge of the King in Prussia is like nothing you have experienced on a starship. When power is lost on a Starfleet vessel, there are auxiliary and emergency systems that provide illumination. The King in Prussia has neither, plunging the ship into the profound darkness of a closed box in the depths of space. There is also no gravity and you struggle for a moment as your body adapts to moving in zero-g. As you gather your bearings, you see the three security personnel have turned on the lamps on their suit helmets and have situated themselves around the room to provide as much light as possible for the rest of you. Moments after your arrival, the warp generator materializes. It is time to get to work.

Alik slowly navigates around the room, making sure to always keep in contact with an anchored object, such as chairs or workstations, as floating off to the middle of the room is both annoying and a bit humiliating. He slowly but steadily opens up wall panels to access the power distribution hardware. He connects high-capacity cables into what he believes are the proper sockets, then leads them back to the generator.
He carefully connects the cables to the generator, then begins the start-up sequence. He stands ready at the controls to shut it down is necessary. And as a backup, he gives Cadet Weathers a job to do. Giving her insulated gloves, in an emergency she can physically disconnect the cables into the generator. That'll cause its own dangers, but if he burns out the entire ship, nothing will be recoverable.
