MYZ: The Zone

How did the world end? Some Stalkers and other braggarts say they know what happened. That a great plague swept the world and killed everyone. That the bosses of the Old Age fired their weapons of mass destruction at each other and drowned the world in flames. That the gods among the stars, the Ancients’ overlords, had enough of mankind’s hubris and decided to end it all in fire and brimstone. Maybe it’s true, maybe it’s just lies and tall tales. The truth is, no one knows for sure. Except maybe the Elder. And he refuses to talk about it. We learned as children not to ask, he would curse and rave at us every time the subject came up. But I’ve heard him mumble in his sleep. He said that the Ancients ended themselves.

"Then we has't a plan? Two wilt waylay the prey, and two wilt charge in?"

When the party are ready and have chosen a straggler among the herd, Mart is in position to do as he said he preferred: charge a beast and trip it up for Arkhod to make a kill.
Rolled Force for my part, 1 success.

Wrestling with big herbivores that could deck his butt with one kick not being the best idea he's ever had, Danny decides against joining up with the team taking them head on. A limping and sometimes wheezing man isn't very intimidating. He's pretty sure they wouldn't even notice he was there. Or would just sit on him to shut him up, and continue eating.

Instead, he does his best to sneak into a spot to help herd the 'cattle' into the hunters that will take them down.
Sneak = 1 Success.

Surprisingly the plan works pretty well.

Danny and Kwine act as distractions of sorts, gaining the attention of the herd while Mart and Arkod get within striking distance.

Mart goes in for a tackle on one of the less attentive grazers and while it bucks and kicks in an attempt to dislodge him, Arkod runs in from it's blind side and after a couple of well placed blows from his scrap blade, the beast goes down.

Mart strains against the force applied to the killing blow, then lays the grazer down, looking it over for a moment. "A good catch. Would that we could stay and bag another for a proper haul, but for the dogs. Too bad." Grabbing the horns and one of the forelegs, he tries to heft the carcass on his back.

Mart hefts the carcass of the dead grazer over his shoulders, much to the surprise of Arkod it would appear, and the group start to head back to the Ark. They make good time, with dusk chasing them along the way.

They come to the putrid creek and are faced with the decision of how to get the food across the water without getting it infected with Rot.

"Perhaps I could give the grazer a good toss. Or, we could float it on a raft. Kwine?" Mart asks, appealing to the tinker for a way to solve this problem.

"We shouldn't have it touch the water," Kwine says after a moment of silence. "But do we need to carry all of it? If we cut off the meatier bits, and take the shanks, we won't get bogged down carrying guts all the way back. If we're really lucky, any predators might go rooting around the parts we leave behind rather than stalking us."

Danny considers his personal mutation, being able to even benefit from small amounts of Rot rather than being hurt by it. It isn't infinite protection, but he isn't worried about the tainted water.
Danny has the "Rot-Eater" Mutation, so he can discharge reasonable amounts of Rot without difficulty. Maybe that could be useful in this situation? He can wade into the water without long-term harm, so could he be in the water helping to hand things over or something? Or walk with the meat above his head, etc.?

Arkod takes out his scrap blade and begins hacking the limbs off the carcass and starts to cut it open, presumably to remove the offal.

"Mayhap put all thine artefacts together in a bag, for the meat we may need more than one," says Mart to the tracker and the tinker. Then he starts filling his bag with some limbs - it should be empty before he does. Once Arkod has the grazer's gut open, if he doesn't move, the slave anticipates getting down next to the carcass to rip and scoop out the offal himself. Just another day in paradise.
