Amir has his drone ready, hovering slightly over his shoulder. "Great question. We're all out of our depths here, dealing with this djinn stuff."

In reply to Basil's question, Kembouri's smile disappears for a moment as he gathers his thoughts. "In theory, yes, they can move from host to host, but they, or at least, they are reputed to prefer the most durable host body."

The doors slowly open, revealing the darkened chamber of the central workshop, which is a clutter of cargo containers of all different sizes, workbenches and spare parts for the ship's other systems. From the elevator you can't see the doors to the other shaft opposite, but the deck plans show where they are. From there you would be able to reach the bridge and crew quarters.

Zaynab looks to Amir and says, "Let's have your drones take the lead. I don't think I've heard any tales of djinn possessing drones."

"Run while you can fools! The Darkness will consume us all!" The intercom crackles into life again, and a second or two later, the lights in the elevator car die, leaving you all in darkness.

"Oh, for the love of the Icons!" Amir curses in exasperation. Nothing is ever easy. "But yes, I'm with you Zaynab. Getting our eyes overhead going." He pilots the drone just as before, moving it to get a more complete aerial view.

"I don't know if this darkness was caused by a prophecy or a light switch, but it's starting to get tedious," Fayz says, attempting to act as if the old woman's prophecy and news of a djinn aren't a concern. He keeps his carbine stowed, in case the djinn decides he's the most durable, so that the rest of the crew will have some time to flee.

Basil follows behind Fayz. "Somebody better hold me back when we catch this guy."

Zaynab says, "He may be trying to help us in his own mad way, trying to spook us to keep us from encountering something he judges worse. And if there is a djinn aboard, who knows what it's done and what he's seen?"

From his drone's live feed, Amir can see the workshop is a mess of spare parts, workstations, industrial lathes and all manner of crates and other containers. Across the cluttered floor on the opposite side of this section it shows another set of elevator doors, though these appear to have been blocked off by a stack of containers, metal beams and other items.

Over to one side a pair of exo-suits stand inactive in a charging station. Amir sees a flicker of movement on the periphery of the drone's camera near to the suits.

"Movement over by some exo-suits." He points in the general direction, although the ground path there might be rather circuitous. "The elevator looks purposely blocked off, but we might be able to clear the way if we needed to." He pilots the drone to try to get a better view of the movement, as well as to plan out a path to the charging station.
