Fellowship of the Dice

As you enter the Cantina, the air is filled with the scents of spiced food, incense and arash smoke. There is a murmur of conversation as various patrons sit at tables, or on the many cushions on the floor in the main room.

Zaynab surveys the place and after a moment is confident she's spotted Adzem Kembouri, but surely there is some mistake - he is sitting at a table with what appears to be another crew. Five rough and ready looking folk, one woman and four men, dressed like they're ready for trouble.

Amir walks confidently into the Cantina, nodding politely to people they pass. He subtly waves and tries to get the attention of Adzem Kembouri, to see if he can get a read on the situation. Whether he tries to wave them away to finish his current business, or whether he very much would like them to approach. Either there are multiple teams being assigned, or the man is himself in trouble and in need of backup.

Fayz enters the cantina, giving the area a quick scan as he let's the rest of the crew move ahead of him. Luckily, his height gives him the ability to see over the heads of his comrades, as well as most people without extensive cybernetics. He'll leave the negotiations to the Captain, and keep an eye out for trouble as the group moves about the room. Seeing what he presumes to be another crew, the Firstcome remarks, "Four men, one woman. Perhaps we all have long-lost twins."

The Narzalus were invited to make a lucrative deal, but who are the others here before them? Is this a joke? "Or we've been played for fools," Basil grumbles, offended at the situation and making an effort to temper his reaction with the captain present. "Or maybe he's not serious. I'll give them one minute."

He seeks a perch with a line of sight on the table, from where he can cast a dirty look toward it's seated occupants.

Zaynab says, "It could be he's interviewing multiple crews for the job. Or it could be he's hired them for another job. I agree though that if he wants us to do this job with a strange crew ... well, we'd need to talk to them ourselves and make a decision about whether we can work with them." She waits to see how Kembouri responds to Amir's wave.

Though the din of countless conversations, laughter and clattering of cookware from the kitchens is almost deafening, you get the impression from Adzem’s body language that he isn’t enamoured by the group sat at his table.

Amir’s subtle wave is noticed by the tall, slim, well dressed businessman and met by a quizzical look. Bazil’s perch allows him to see little more than the others, but he can see the tensed shoulders of the female in the group, a sure sign that there is something brewing between the two parties seated at the table.

"Something odd is going on here," says Zaynab. "It seems like he wasn't expecting us ... You don't suppose that other group is posing as us?" She sounds shocked by the notion even as she says it.

Amir puts on his widest smile and strides up to the table with just oodles of confidence. When he gets close he clasps his hands eagerly together to draw attention to himself, and gives a little polite nod of his head. "Greetings, my good fellows. I and my friends have an appointment with this gentleman," he gestures at Adzem Kembouri, "and wish to stay on schedule. Is your business concluded?"

Basil saunters up to the table as well and takes a lean on the side. He makes a little flex as he folds his arms, still quite unhappy with Kembouri's table guests, and not ready to take a "no". Without meaning so, he provides a bit of contrast to Amir's pleasant outward demeanor.

Zaynab follows the others, but she isn't sure how to play this. Her good nature has her hoping this is a misunderstanding, while her by-the-book attitude has her wanting to avoid a public confrontation--on the other hand, she isn't sure there is a way to avoid that.
