That works for me. We could say that Fargrim's restlessness and his firsthand account with the orcs in the mines are why he was picked to go with the dwarven envoy. He might be a friend of Vidar's family.

Cool.
All things being equal, we have our fellowship ready. I'll wait until everyone has confirmed they are good to go and have completed their sheets and added a little background or story for their personal threads before I start.

Re: TOR2: Gathering the Fellowship
I'm good to go. I have my background decided, I'm just in the middle of giving it a proper write-up (Jon went hard with the prologue for Periwinkle). Basically, he's a transplant from the Dale who moved to Bree in the hopes of building up a name (and maybe a business) for himself providing escorts for trade caravans. I'll post something more substantive in my story thread once I've completed writing it.

I'm ready to go. And I'm good with Fargrim being a friend of Vidar's family. Perhaps Fargrim has fought alongside Vidar's father, Vali.

Re: TOR2: Gathering the Fellowship
Don't all feel that you have to write loads of have it packed full of lore.. there's plenty time for people to write their sagas as we play.
What people have written so far is great, but the others shouldn't feel like they have to match them for word count.

Re: TOR2: Gathering the Fellowship
Love how everyones player-heroes are turning out. Nice! Also fun with a dwarven-heavy gang. I'm looking forward to play.
Here are some suggestions about how Periwinkle knows or has run into some of the other characters before:
Ragnarr: Periwinkle always drop by Ulfhild’s bakery when she is in Bree to stock up on her legendary honey plum pies. Periwinkle has probably bumped in to Rangnarr at the bakery and also talked to him at the Prancing Pony, sharing stories from near and afar. As Ragnarr is a Barding, Periwinkle will want to hear everything about the lone mountain, the dragon, the lake town, his travel over the misty mountains and everything in between. She is a devout fan of Mr Bilbo Baggins adventures and probably also pretty impressed by Ragnarr's travels.
Vidar: Periwinkle and Vidar met on the road somewhere in or just outside The Shire, when he was on one of his trips away from the Blue Mountains. Vidar had an urgent message to his father Vali, but didn’t have the time to deliver it himself, as he was on his way to a meeting with some rangers of the north, so he employed Periwinkle for that (though he was hesitant of her abilities at first). Vali and Periwinkle got on surprisingly well when she finally succeeded in convincing the guards that she wasn’t a burglar or a spy or some other agent of evil, and now she knows more about Vidar than he is comfortable with.
Fargrim: By mere chance Periwinkle saved Fargrim from an ambush, where some mean-sprinted hobbit-children (or orc-spawn, as he called them, yelling) had fortified themselves in the trees by the road and bombarded him with acorns. Periwinkle showed him a less travelled route through the Shire that would minimise such encounters in the future, for the health and safety of both dwarves and hobbit-children.
Targon: At one time a couple of wolves stalked Periwinkle while she was having a bath and washing her clothes in a stream near the old forest. When Periwinkle understood the danger she was in, she was too far away from her bow an arrows and the situation looked really dire. Targon had tracked the wolf pack for days and caught up with them just in time. He killed two wolves and chased the others away. Targon then accompanied Periwinkle all the way to Brandywine bridge to ensure her safety, as there were many evil creatures that had come down from the land around Fornost at that time.
Nyrad: When i know more about Nyrad I will think out some possible connection.

Re: TOR2: Gathering the Fellowship
Your suggested connection with Vidar makes good sense to me, though Vidar doesn't think he has anything to be embarrassed about in his past.

Re: TOR2: Gathering the Fellowship
Fargrim wouldn't travel alone, he'd go out with the occasional scouting parties and caravans from the Blue Mountains. I could see him accompanying Vidar frequently as a favor to Vali, to look after his boy. If he met Peri often enough, he might soften and be grateful for someone to talk to.
