The Crimson Empire is an alternate storyline from the official storyline of L5R. Crimson Empire is a "What if Bayushi Shoju and the Scorpion had won during the Scorpion Clan Coup." This is a completely different world from the official Clan Wars storyline.

Ryoko reaches the place he last saw the geisha and begins to search for her tracks. They aren't hard to find, the one sandal on and barefoot off is easiy to pick up. The woman zombie couldn't have gotten to far as slow as she shambles. As Go-suto is searching and finding the trail one of the Shiba calls out. "We have company." He points to a rise on a hill, where three figures stand -- Shimazu, Dayu and Koji.
Then Shimazu calls out, "Go-suto! You have returned!"
