Guess the Song

Post by Nate » Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:58 pm

This is one I've seen fairly often out there, just figured I'd try it here......

One person post's lyrics, and people guess the band name and song. The only key here is making sure that it's music that could reasonably be heard by other people on the board. So try not to post Local Bands from your area or any other pretty much unknown bands.

Here's mine: "Sensurround sound in a two inch wall
Well I was waiting for the communist call
I didn't ask for sunshine and I got World War three
I'm looking over the wall and they're looking at me"
And as we all know, or should know  , that's "Holiday's in the Sun, by the Sex Pistols"
So let's start with an easy one.

"I hear the train a comin, It's rolling round the bend
And I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when."

Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves."

White curtain by Cream

Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind
Tired friend
Times are gone
For honest men
And sometimes
Far too long
For snakes

Nirvana - About a girl

Deep in the jungle where the mighty tiger lies
Bill and his elephants were taken by surprise
So Captain Marvel zapped in right between the eyes
All the children sing
7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea.

The Beatles - The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill

In all my years of judging
I have never heard before of
Some one more deserving
The full penalty of law
The way you made them suffer
Your exquisite wife and mother
Fills me with an urge to defecate
"Kings have no friends, only subjects and enemies."

Pink Floyd - Album The Wall - The Trial

I tried too hard and she tore my feelings
like I had none and ripped them away
She was queen for about an hour
After that, s** got sour
She took all I ever had
No sign of guilt no feelin bad no
In a trap trip I can't grip
Neva thought I'd be the one who'd slip
Then I started to realize
I was livin' one big lie

Puddle of Mudd- She Hates Me

The piercing radiant moon,
The storming of poor June,
All the life running through her hair,

Approaching guiding light,
Our shallow years in fright,
Dreams are made winding through my head

System of a Down - Spiders

Ten silver saxes,
a bass with a bow
The drummer relaxes
