Ignoring the man with the crossbow for a moment, Scout turns its attention to the injured attacker before it. The man looks none too healthy and Scout determines to encourage that trend. It is slightly bothered by the prospect of actually killing another living creature. But quickly the training from its initial weeks of life take over and it proceeds.

Initiative: Scout 12; Kenyon 8; Emerald Claw 5

Scout's training takes over, even as the swarm continues to lose bats and starts to surge towards the soldier. His sickle already in hand swings out finding a small gap in the shield and mail aromor of the soldier, striking into his groin. A gush of blood rushes out around the farming weapon and the soldier turns white. He staggers backwards and into the surging bats that bite him and carry him to the ground, where he no longer moves.
Scout Attack 6 +14 =20 hit 5 damage Soldier at 0 disabled. Swarm attack 4 points of damage, he's dead, swarm lasts one more round.
Kenyon struggles onward against his enemy, perhaps his recent head injury has weekend him more then he thought, but he finds his attacks lacking coordination, he seems to always be half a step behind the man as he slashes low but the man manages to step away from the attack.
Kenyon Full attack, 9 + 4 =13 Miss.
The crossbow man gives a mighty heave against the entangling plants, he almost breaks through vines snap and pull but when his strength gives out, he seems unable to break loose. As the sentient vegetation pulls him in.
Strength check 19 FAIL!
The flail wielding soldier facing Kenyon completes his escape. He quickly steps out of the danger area, and lashes out with his flail. But his movement and attack he gets in his own way and can't connect with Kenyon.
move 5 foot out of the vegitation, Attack 12 miss.

As it swings its sickle at the injured soldier, Scout feels a small bit of regret. It was not with malice that the druid tries to kill the man, but simply out of a sense of self-preservation. And in that area, the warforged's creators have not failed. As a being designed for battle, Scout has a very keen instinct to protect itself, an instinct that Scout was almost surprised to experience.

Nevertheless, as the sickle hits home, giving the soldier a near-critical injury, Scout whispers a prayer for the man's soul. Misguided or not, Scout feels the man deserves that much.

But now was not the time for wool gathering. Turning its attention to the flail-wielding soldier, Scout again raises its sickle and andvances. Working to split the man's attention critically, Scout aims to strike at the man immediately opposite where Kenyon is engaging him.
If it's possible without provoking an AOO, flank the flail-wielding soldier and attack. If it would require a full move, instead take a 5 foot step towards flanking the soldier and attack, with the idea of flanking him next turn.

Feeling dizzy and frustrated that he has continued missing his foe, Kenyon becomes more determined to get rid of this annoyance and then take a well deserved rest.

He rears back and launches a fierce strike against the soldier, hoping to evade his flail again and strike home a deadly blow.

Round 5

Post by Wayloss » Tue Jun 06, 2006 12:00 am

Initiative: Scout 12; Kenyon 8; Emerald Claw 5
The swarm summoned by Scout is nearly gone but swoops towards Kenyon and the soldier, flapping in and surrounding the men with biting them in hundreds of places. Causing both men to begin to bleed from dozens of tiny wounds.
Last round for the swarm, heads for Kenyon engulfing him and the soldier, both men suffer 2 points of damage and start to bleed. You both will bleed until healed as a result of curative magic or a heal check.
Scout can indeed move up and does so that he is directly behind the emerald claw soldier, he remains outside of the bat's however. Perhaps the swarming bat's makes him reluctant to strike but the druid's attack comes up far short, perhaps for fear of harming the living bats, whose only purpose here is by his will.
Attack, 6 +2(Flanking) +3 =11 Miss
Kenyon seizes the opportunity provided by Scout, and unleashes a mighty blow with all the power off of his back foot he sings forward, the emerald claw soldier distracted by the bat's and by Scout lifts his shield, but a moment late, the sword slides off the top of his shield and buries deep into his shoulder causing him to gasp and reflexively pull off the blade sending a fountain of blood into the air making him woozy.
Kenyon attacks, 8 +2(Flanking) +7 =17 HIT! Finnaly, due to flanking'¦. Damage 9
The crossbow man is held fast in the vines, he struggles once again to get free but seems to gain nothing against the iron grip holding him. He curses loudly, but cannot escape the grasp. The last remaining soldier bleeds from his wounds has grown pale, suddenly he topples forward on the ground and stops moving.
Bleeds, and dies'¦.

Round 6

Post by Trogdor » Tue Jun 06, 2006 12:21 am

Stepping over the dead man between them, Scout moves to a position that places Kenyon between it and the remaining soldier. "Forgive me for any apparent cowardice," the warforged says softly, for Kenyon's ears alone, "But I am less concerned with injury and more with the chance of a well-placed bolt ruining my spell. It is, alas, the only healing spell I have today. I had not intended for you to be caught by the bat's attack, and I would not like to see you perish from it."

With that Scout places one hand on Kenyon's shoulder and uses the other to make some mystic passes in the air. All the while, it mutters a few arcane phrases.
Move action to get into position. Standard action to cast CLW on Kenyon.

Whispering back to Scout, Kenyon says "Thanks for the help, as I needed it."

Turning his head back to his front and seeing that his opponent is still entangled, Kenyon will replace his sword and ready his bow (as a move action).

Aiming, he'll fire an arrow at his target.

Combat Round 6

Post by Wayloss » Fri Jun 09, 2006 8:01 am

Initiative: Scout 12; Kenyon 8; Emerald Claw 5
Scout's summoned swarm disperses, the bats flapping madly away from the control of the druid into the sheltering darkness of the forest. Meanwhile Scout takes cover behind the more warlike of the two, placing his large mithril hands upon the back of Kenyon he intones a prayer to Eberron again. It is clear that this construct's soul has found common ground with the world and the smell of flowers and fresh air surrounds Kenyon for a precious moment. Blood flow stops and the worst of his wounds mend over, bruises and broken bones ease and he can breath easier.
Scout Moves, casts Cure light wounds heals 9 points Kenyon 35/39, no longer bleeding.
Kenyon wisely chooses to stay out of the mass of writhing vegetation that clearly looks more then willing to entangle him much as the hapless crossbow man is. He Stabs his sword into the dirt of the road and pulls his bow form his shoulder, he quickly uncaps his quiver and pulls an arrow from his quiver. Perhaps it is the motion of the plants but Kenyon fires his short bow and just misses the entangled man.
6 + 8 = 14 miss!
The crossbow man is entangled, and continues an apparently futile attempt to escape the vegetation.
Str Check 10 vs DC 20 fail.
Initiative: Scout 12; Kenyon 8; Emerald Claw 5
Could both of you update your sheets via the online Character Sheets? Also Tigersrule please put any game mechanic stuff into spoilers so as to not clutter up what could be a very Good RP post with game mechanics.

Content that Kenyon will not bleed to death, Scout turns its attention back to the remaining soldier. The entangling vines prohibit direct attack, so the warforged returns its sickle to its belt hook, and unlimbers its sling, placing a stone in the pocket.

"Toss your weapons aside and surrender now or we'll be forced to kill you," the druid calls out, stepping from behind Kenyon. "This will be your only warning."
Move Action: Sheathe sickle.
Move Action: Draw and load sling.
Five foot step from behind Kenyon.

Once Scout makes his comments to the trapped man, Kenyon waits patiently for the man to decide what he does. He says "I'd recommend listening to my friend here, as your companions are dead and you could be next, unless you surrender."

Actions
Kenyon will delay his action until after the man's and if the man doesn't do anything, then he won't fire. If the man continues to struggle and fight his way out, Kenyon will fire a shot at the trapped man.
Msg
Thanks for your patience, Wayloss. I haven't done spoilers b/f, so I'm still learning when to use them and when not to.
