Prelude: The Simple Man

Jon continues walking south for about a block befor coming about a small corner liuqer store.. might be some food inside. The windows are dark as the power looks out. And with good reason. The attached building next to it, which formerly had the power lines for a group of building is completly destoryed. The liuqer store, however, had not a brick out of place. It's always amazing at the amount of damage done in such small areas... almost like specific things were targeted.

Giving pause to look at the destroyed building Jon gives a second thought to just walking into the liqueur store. Some places are just too obvious. he instead slips into the rubble of the other building and works his way to find a less obvious way into the building, his eyes open and his ears alert for whatever.

Jon enters the building to the right side, an apartment building which looks too connect on the 2nd floor. This could be a way to get to the store.

The sign of the liqueur store makes it look like its one of them stairs that you wouldn't want to live next to, like it would attract the rats that could eat someone alive.

Entering the other building, the front door was unlocked, reveals a first floor of apartments. A stare well goes up several floors in the classic square pattern and also goes down, into the ground. This is an apartment building after all. From the out side it was 5 floors high.

Its absolutely horrid how they would target people in such a systematic way. Like burning ant hills with gas. Jon continues through the peoples living areas, searching for things of use: non perishable food, weapons, anything to make living easier.

Jon looks though the first appartment, finding a wool blanket and a camping back pack. Also, a large (8 In.) knife with no sheath... At least it makes a good weapon. It takes you about 30 minutes to sack this one appartment, which looked like it had already been gone though. You are currently on the frist floor still.

Seeing as their really is nothing better to do with his life now that the world has turned upside down, Jon decides to continue his search of the building. Moving room by room, trying to be as careful and discrete as he can. THe pack is a good find and he slumps that over a shoulder with the blanket inside and the knife going into his belt as carefully as he is able.

Looking down the hall, you realize that this floor alone has about 10 units and you have no idea about the other floors. The second door is locked, do you want to make the noise and kick in the door?

Jon will take the time to search through the rooms, leaving the locked door for now. With no job or other concerns this seems to be as good a place as any to make a stand for the night if things go on for that long.

Jon takes the time to rilfe though the rooms that are unlocked, which many of them are.

I'm going to see what the other two are going to be doing, incase you guys cross again. I'm going to complie a list of stuff for the first floor and then move to the 2nd

It takes about 3 hours to rifle the 10 apartments on the first floor; 2 other apartments are lock and you decided not to search them. Jon finds many useful items and many... not so useful. It does appear that the building has been picked over once before...

You find'¦ 3 pads of paper, 4 pens, 3 black sharpie markers, 1 pair of size 9 steel toe boots (covered in mud), 3 12 oz cans of French cut green beans, 2 16 oz cans of pare halves, a half eaten box of wheat thins, 5 20 oz unopened bottles of water, Hunting knife (and sheath), 24 ct box of strike anywhere matches, 3 candles, a mess kit, 6 pack of bud light 12 oz cans.
