The year is now 1887 in Braxton Falls (Modern day Alpena Michigan). The Countessa Isabella De La Vega has run the town and its evirons with an iron fist for the last 50 years. The primogen of the town despise the despotic rule of their spanish born liege but realize that even with all their resources combined they would be hard pressed to stage a successful coup.

In north america Isabella's practice of supporting the unbound vampires has made her both envied and despised. Though it has gained her an unknown quantity of allies and contacts. It has also ruffled many feathers in her own domain. Fortunately her friendship with the unbound regent Selema is mutual and strong. Making a majority of the opposition fearful about debate on the subject.

One of the strongest voices against the unbound and the prince is Sampson McCarthy primogen of the Carthian movement. This large man of irish descent controls about 85 percent of northern Michigans lumber harvesting. Definately making him among the richest of inhabitants in Braxton. His might makes right attitude makes those in the Carthians a bit fearful that perhaps one day soon he is going to over step the bounds of kindred society and bring the princes full wrath against the movement, but for now they support him because he is able to get things done where many others have failed. Currently Sampson is negotiating a silent treaty with Raphael of the Ordo Dracul.

Raphaels pursuit of perfection is infamous. The frenchmans absolute hatred of the unbound is well known. He has made it clear that any of Selema's vassals who enter his territory without the princes protection would be disposed of before sunrise like so much refuse. His open alliance with the Invictus does not always mean he supports the Countessa's decrees, but it has kept him from openly disputing her rule.

The Invictus currently being led by the new primogen Gerard De Lonfontaine III, esquire. Secretly is fighting much internal strife as they are divided on their support of the prince. They have managed to this point to keep this lesser civil war hidden from the other coeteries. Though suspiscions of the dispute are beginning to emerge throughout Braxton Falls.

The Circle of the Crone is now under the control of the grand duchess Isadora. This mysterious figure arrived from England and almost overnight wrested control from the former primogen Wilimina. Isadora is bold in both word and action before the prince. Leading many to wonder what is keeping the prince from dethroning the vicious socialite. Isadora despises the Lancea Santum and supports almost any decision the prince makes that affects them in a negative way, short of open warfare.

Strong in faith and weak in numbers the Lancea sanctum. Were formally led by the ancient primogen known only as the Deacon. His disappearance two years ago with an ancient artifact known as the Minerva mosaic not only created a docile power vaccuum in the Lancea, but almost breached the security provided by the masquerade. Bringing a lot of unwanted publicity both kindred and kine to the area. They are now currently under the guidance of the primogen Bishop Otis. Childe of the Deacon.

Under the protection of the Treaty of Braxton. Selema regent of the unbound has prospered. Her love of flesh is well known to the kindred of the town. The monstrously large woman must use her disciplines just to make her way around. Though rarely does she leave the confines of her own territory. She rules unquestionably in her domain. Many unbound have disappeared through the decades after breaching the confines of the treaty never to be seen again. Currently incursions into her lands by the children of luna have depopulated the unbound. Leaving casualties on both sides and starting to open a hole in the veil of secrecy surrounding kindred society.
