I've had limited but good experiences with Savage Worlds on other sites, but the combat system can be a bit unpredictable in its results, which is what I think turned folks here off. No real interest in anything related to the Cthulhu Mythos though.

BattleTech? Maybe a mercenary unit?

Saying that, I don't know what rules to use for player interaction (obviously BattleTech rules for actual Mech combat.)

We could use Cortex Battlestar Galactica for MechWarriors, the rules for building ships could easily enough be modded to be mechs.

How about just BSG.

I'd do that.

Sorry, hi-jack. Tet ran a Savage Worlds game. It didn't "work" and I swear its cause we were doing the system wrong.

What I recall is I gave an enemy extra ... vigor I think based on an ability. It made the attacks impossible to succeed well enough to do damage. That's what I recall without looking it up.
