Any interest in beginner D&D 5e campaign?
I believe we have character sheets for 5th, I ran a game, and so did someone else once. Let me dig. I also have the books.
"He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom." - Gandalf
J.R.R. Tolkien, Council of Elrond, The Fellowship of the Ring

I sent a DropBox invite to MWD, Grimbold, and Shurijo you already have access -- check it out.

Nice, @Vardaen can you share the sheet with @JohnnyWeird too? Thanks
JohnnyWeird - If you like it, let me know and we'll start the forum next week.
All - so far allowable sources are: Player's Handbook (and free 'Basic Rules' which is a subset of PHB), Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, Xanathar's Guide to Everything.
I've typed up a (WIP) char creation guide that I had for the 'kids' game which gives a paragraph or so about each race, class, and background. You guys probably don't need the race or class info, but the background info might be useful for ideas. Also, everybody will have an additional game specific plot hook which I'll provide the various choices.
So far, from my reading, I'm liking 5e - it feels more simple rules wise but everything is still there. There feels like less penalties and more bonuses, which is just a different (and somewhat more simple) way of getting to the same result.
I'll also post some house rules, rule variants, etc. if/when we get a forum. Right now, here's my ideas: point buy or standard array for char gen, level 1, fixed hit points (no rolling), fixed monster damage (less surprises, faster combat, less rolls for DM), side initiative (DM roll 2x d20, one for players, one for monsters, highest goes first - in any order). (all of these are in DMG) - if you have any questions about these, let me know and I can post examples.
also - if no healers, then maybe "Healing Surge" variant rule.
