Sword reaches out immediately and grabs the woman by the throat. His gauntleted hands wrap around her neck and squeeze while lifting her off the ground. He does not kill her, even in his rage, instead squeezing until the blood has stopped rushing toward her brain and rendering her unconscious. With a sweeping motion he tosses her off the nearby wall like a rag doll. Sword then draws his greatsword and begins stalking the nearest technician.

The screams of panic echo in the room. Sword tosses the woman into a wall unconscious and she lays there until the fighting is over and beyond. With his blade drawn he stalks toward one of the men. Before Sword reaches him however the man draws a pistol from the hidden holster under the table and shouts, "You will never learn anything about the Faceless One from me!" He then puts the barrel to his head and blows his own brains out!

Sword will have to find another target.

Jericus fires an array of shurikens at another technician, saving the man the trouble of finishing himself off. But for the most part, he leaves the slaughter to the rest of the team. Instead, he walks over to their former guide and makes certain that she's alive and likely to stay that way. Then, as a precaution, he binds her hands so that she can't cause herself any harm when she wakes.

Sword isn't worried about questioning he technicians. If they want to kill themselves, fine. If not, he will take care of it for them.

Damien takes out his laspistol and joins in the killing. He generally tries to aim low to give not immediately lethal wounds. He wants to both save some for questioning, and make their wounds lingering and painful. He corrals at least one of them without injuries, since having a personal witness before the Inquisition interrogators would be valuable. He doesn't know if they'll be able to drag out witnesses, but at least he's trying.

Not wanting to waste Promethium for the flamer, Haxtes uses his Hellgun on single shot to shoot the workers one after the other. "This is an error. This needs to be fixed." he repeats all the time. It almost seems like a repeated, prerecorded message. He tries to avoid damage to the machine though.

The next few moments are bloody and chaotic. Sword moves from person to person cutting them down, chopping their heads off or driving them through on his phsyical sword.

Jericus puts another round into one of the scientists but then leaves the bloody work to others and tends to the woman to make sure they have someone to question.

Damien manages to even miss his targets at this close range at least one striking some aparatus that explodes in a confined fireball on one side of the room. Then the men he was aiming for kill themselves with either a gun to the head or poison capsules in their teeth.

"This is an error. This needs to be fixed." Its all Haxtes has as he puts down the workers one by one.

In moments the room is empty of enemies, a few servitors remain, mindlessly working their tasking, having done nothing to stop you or to even suggest they know anything happened. The robotic like Saia Strophes is just doing her programmed job regardless of the firefight.

The place is clear of threats, unless Theodosia returns with those men the woman thought you were. The place is yours, what you do now its up to you.
What do you do with the place? Blow it up? Call in the Inquisition. Get the Munitorium or Arbites involved?

In effect this is the final bit of the entire chapter. Theodosia does not return, or if he does you don't see him. The clues come to a halt here and no further investigation can continue within the scope of this chapter at least.

So I need some PC driven actions from here (actually I always want those). What's the goal, what's next?

Also watch the OOC I'll give out long over due XP now so you can have time to think about spending it over Xmas.

"I say leave these Servitors to their work, they can be observed further to see exactly what they're doing." The heavily armored Sword stalks back over to Jericus as he slips his greatsword into its sheath.

"My vote is to alert Inquisitor Sand and let him make the call about what to do here. He can send more investigators to determine what this place is."

"I concur. This is a matter for the Inquisition, not the local authorities. Having Arbites down here would just complicate matters. We will secure and hold this place until Inquisitor Sand sends a team to take over." He reloads his laspistol, having run the battery dry. "We will make sure all evidence is preserved, and witness statements recorded. The real minds behind this operation are obviously not here. We will need all of this data to track them down later."

"We must call in the Arbites to secure this facility," Jericus advises. "From above, of course. You're quite correct. They can't be allowed down here. But we'll need their numbers and their authority to keep others away from here. We'll also need them to gather up what people we can from above. The followers of the Joyous Choir may be simply dupes. But that doesn't mean that they don't know anything of value. As for down here, I agree. Let's keep it running as best we can so that Sand, or whoever he designates, can investigate properly.

But there's one thing left to do," the scholar adds. "We owe it to Lord Strophes for all of his help." He walks over to where the servitor that was once Strophes' niece is working and mercifully shoots her dead with an array of shurikens.

"She deserved better than that," he notes dispassionately. "But death is still better than 'living' like that."
Jericus will return above and call in the Arbites, flashing his Inquisition identification to secure cooperation. The Arbites will be given orders to secure the temple and everyone in it, but they are not to be allowed down the stairs under penalty of punishment by the Inquisition.

Sand will be notified, of course ASAP, though it will likely take days before he can reply. The group will stand guard over the underground facility until it can be handed over to representatives of Sand.

If for some reason Jericus has an emergency contact for Sand that can reach him quicker, he will judge that this situation warrants its use.
