Image “For every serf there is a place, no matter how modest. For every servant there will be comfort in knowing that his sacrifice and strength of purpose shall be rewarded at his journey’s end. Now rise up! Rise up and claim your reward!”
- Baron Havalir Saerton Ulbrexis.

“You think man is the only race to dabble in the darkness of the warp? No my friend, there are creatures far older and evil than us out there among the cold stars—aliens whose worship of the warp makes humanity seem as naughty children screaming at the sky.”
– Interrogator Milos Helacania, Lost to the Warp 673M40

Four months have passed since you escaped the destruction of The Twilight and the space hulk that surrounded it. Sand, impressed with your abilities and your work has given you leave to access of much forbidden knowledge. He has also provided you access to repair or replace the items that were lost when the ghost spirits nearly destroyed you all. You did however spent weeks in confinement, to test you for possession, or infection, or for influence from the Dark Eldar's power of control and for warp taint. Jericus hasn't been heard from since this point on, save for rumors that he may have been tainted by the warp -- which might explain his strange behavior when on the Twilight. The group checked out, and you were soon off doing your own things.

Networks needed to be maintained, alter egos needed face time with contacts, weapon training had to be honed, and knowledge needed learning. The discovery that Sgt. Forden of the other team was working for the Serrated Query was a key piece of information that has helped raise your status among other inquisitors as well. You have heard that Inquisitor Marr, who you've had enough dealings with before has himself come under some scrutiny for employing such a Acolyte.

Time rolls on, and you have much of it to explore your own interested, but you know such peaceful moments rarely last, and the nagging desire to get back to real work is ever present.
Welcome back to the game. We are going to start with letting you tell me what you did for the last 4 months. Everyone is on Scintilla, the capital world still, but otherwise feel free to explain your new XP spends, etc.

If you post back here I expect that means you are dedicated to the 3 Day Rule and are back with us for at least another chapter.

Sword has secluded himself most of the time in meditation. He claims to pray and prepare his body for the rigors of their next mission, whatever it might be, and so, there is little to be seen of him over the last four months.

In addition to meditation, Sword has been busy researching personal matters and providing information for his cover in Port Wander, a massive void station on the uttermost edge of the Drusus Marches Sub-sector of the Calixis Sector. He has made mention to spending time there previously to the other acolytes.

Haxtes spends a lot of his time in his workshop, repairing his equipment himself. At other times, he goes about his business as Brother Harold Nox, an Adeptus Mechanicus weapons expert and makes trips to Gunmetal City on Scintilla to inspect some weapon factories. He also sends encrypted astropathic messages to some of his contacts on the Lathe Worlds and other Mechanicus installations. Once, he returns with some boxes and other equipment, but quickly stores them away in his workshop.

The disappearance of his brother seems to raise no emotions in him whatsoever and he seems even more like a machine now.

Damien has spent the majority of his time deep in the Archives of the Inquisition. With his expanded security clearance, he has spent many straight weeks reading and pondering the Tomes there. He studied horrors that would cause any normal man to run in fear, and contemplated seductive forces that have caused the downfalls of entire worlds. Daemonology is a study best left to experts, those that have been tested by the Warp, and not found wanting. Strength of will, and faith in the God-Emperor of Mankind, those are the tools that an Acolyte needs. What an Inquisitor-in-Training needs.

His equipment has also seen a solid upgrade. He was always a minimalist, relying almost solely on his Psyker powers to win the day. Evidently the horrors of the Space Hulk, and the pending doom with the Serrated Query and their anti-psyker wards, has made him change his mind. Years of saved Acolyte stipends, as well as their gains from the Auction so long ago, have finally been spent. Carapace armor with Hexagrammatic Wards encase his body. New technological items are attached to his belt. Even his sword and laspistol look to be of War World quality. He may not be the most terrifying of physical warriors, but now he at least has a chance at fighting back if his Psyker powers are shut down. He will not be helpless again.

Fate, or some may say the God-Emperor, has brought a trio of the acolytes into contact with one another after many months of separation.

Haxtes has been called on to do a few repairs of a security system deep among an Inquisitorial archive. That same archive is where Damien has been working, studying and learning forbidden knowledge that no man should ever know. Yet, his job requires it. The pair have both completed their tasks when they happen to run into one another.

Port Wander is a great distance from Scintilla, yet Sword has contacts there, and little by little is learning the ways of the Rogue Traders associated with such a place. One such possible contact has caused a bit of worry in Sword. He's not scholar, and has come seeking Damien or Jericus, who he heard where possibly here.

Nemidia has spent her time with her fellow arbitares. The experience on the hulk where the team's psykers managed to save the situation had put some troubling questions before her in regard to the will of the God-Emperor, His ways and her understanding of it. But she has also tried herself and tried herself as much as she can for the bitter taste of weakness has been in her soul since the time on the space hulk and she is determined to never be outdone by psykers, not witches, again.

Haxtes has just finished his repairs when, going up in the elevator, Damien joins him. Haxtes looks at him, his electronic eye glowing red, and then the Techpriest acknowledges him with a nod. The acolytes know it is about as difficult to get an audience with the Emperor himself as to get out an unnecessary word from Haxtes.

Damien nods in return, comfortable with the Techpriest. They have been working together for at least a year now. He hasn't sat down and thought about it, as time seems so irrelevant these days. "I trust the security repairs have been going well." He pats a small tome he is carrying. "My studies continue apace as well. Although I feel I will need to take a break soon. Even with a trained and seasoned mind, overexposure to the evils of Chaos can strain even the most faithful of the God-Emperor."

Sword returns and nods to the others as he meets them. "I hope you have take time to relax your bodies and minds. I assume it will not be so easy when we are once again destroying Chaos for the Emperor."

The man isn't wearing his heavy armor, but instead is just dressed in typical attire you would see on Scintilla. "Where is Jericus, I have a question concerning some leads I found. He's tied into the Administratum, is he not?"

As if on cue, a side door opens and Jericus steps in. He's wearing robes similar to those that might be worn by a senior member of the Administratum, and looks as if he would blend in on the streets of Scintilla.

"Good to see you all in fine form," he says. "I hope you've all had ample opportunity to rest, recuperate, and get prepared for the next set of duties the Inquisition will have for us."
