Merica catches her breath, perhaps with unwise timing, and is about to answer the adept before the proctor and his men file into the room, and she nods when his observation facilitates her introduction.

"My assistance was...minimal, but gladly given," she replies to Rotlan. The acolytes barely needed her, though she was satisfied with providing a target. Any longer, and she would have drawn her blade.

She introduces herself to Jerichus. "Merica Adeline Luttrell. Apologies for the hesitation. This is my first assignment with the Inquisition. We serve the selfsame inquisitor."
If it becomes relevant, I need to know the reasons for which I was assigned to this squad and this mission by the inquisitor, if he gave any.

The techpriest walks over to the others, not sparing another glance at the smouldering corpse. When Merica introduces herself, he nods, and says in a hoarse, rarely used voice: "Haxtes."
The techpriest is wearing his order's black and red robes with a large metal cog symbol at the belt. A variety of weapons can be seen in diverse holsters and magnetic sheaths. His eyes are red glowing augmentic ones, and the lower half of his face has been permanently covered with a grilled breathing apparatus. A variety of mechadendrites protrude from his back, most noticably his optical mechadendrite, a slender, tentacle-like limb with a glowing mechanical eye and some form of lamp. This one looks as if it is constantly hovering over his shoulder and darts around, permanently looking for hostiles.

Momentarily, Merica realizes she is the only one among the acolytes with their face covered. As she removes her helmet with her free right hand, she resists pulling a face at the fusion of flesh and steel giving his name.

Sweat beads down her forehead. Trimmed above the light blue eyes of her austere countenance, her flaxen bob cut frames a slim jawline, between which a rending scar trails from her right cheek down to the tip of her chin. There is another scar on the side of her neck where skin has been removed, the flesh still raw.

Jericus nods to Merica. "I'll confirm this with my superiors," he says, but otherwise seems to accept her presence. No doubt the good word of Rotlan did not go awry. "Your assistance, while brief, was most helpful. It likely saved us from greater injury. IT was most appreciated."

Then he turns to Damien and Haxtes. "I see that the traitor is disposed of. "Once the hand is secured we can move on to the hidden basement. That will need to be cataloged and secured as well."

"Proctor Rotlan, your men did good work. We'll need a team of your best men to guard the chapel. We discovered a hoard of forbidden objects hidden there. More than enough proof to be the downfall of this house."

Rotlan listens, nodding, he grabs his vox and gives orders to secure the rest of the manor, where to post more guards, and where to not go. He has a heavy lined container, a promethium fuel drum brought in, it takes a ten minutes or more, but it should do what you want it to do it, at least you know it won't melt easily.

So with that you are working on the securing of the final bits and pieces, and the fire in the hall is doused after a time, and the last of the local guards of the house are rounded up and escorted out, the Arbites will handle them now, unless you want to interrogate them. Rotlan fully cooperates, he was there in the mines, at the HQ when you saved his arse, he knows the power of the Inquisition, and he does all he can to be of help.

Damien takes his time making sure the pentagrammatic symbols are etched with precision, imbuing them with what psyker power he can manage. He is not experiences in such warding, and to a certain extent is simply copying what he has seen in other instances, rather than following formal schooling. Regardless, it can do little harm to try.

As he finishes up, he listens attentively to Merica's introduction. "Damien Quinn, biomancer. I've never worked with a Sister of Battle before. The reputation of your order precedes you." He looks rather non-descript outside of his equipment, or at least he used to. He has what appears to be a somewhat recent, brutal scar, extending up the left side of his face and ear. His supernatural powers kept him from losing anything, but even psyker healing couldn't completely remove signs of the once-massive wound.

"Yes." The sister's reply is strained. "And I have never fought alongside one of your kind. I assume your talents were of use in the battle?"

No doubt they owed their quick work of Thrungg to this mutant, muting her efficacy before she made her 'shattering' entrance.

Damien slowly stretches his fingers, loosening them up after the task of engraving. One eyebrow raises, and he cocks his head. "You've ... never worked with a psyker before? We're not exactly rare, especially in the Emperor's service. Even the Imperial Guard have dedicated battle-psykers." He shrugs. "I admit my lore on the Adepta Sororitas did not include that particular problem. Well, we serve the same Inquisitor, so we'll just have to get used to each others presence, now won't we?"

"We will, at that. My eyes have beheld the psychically mutated, but none are recruited for our division. I suppose it is just as well that you are sanctioned."

Her eyes span the aftermath, as though she were pacing with her gaze. "I can watch the prisoners, or join on the hidden floor mentioned, if I may be able to assist."
This leads in to skip ahead. I plan on meditating if I have nothing better to do than keep an eye on the prisoners.

Haxtes assists Rotlan and Damien in securing the evil hand, working silently without saying anything. He also aids in cataloguing the artifacts in the basement. For now, he just accepts the presence of Merica without much emotion.
