"Wait on... Damien.. Give me a minute and I'll take a look." Renik said, holding out a hand to halt the psyker. He had no desire to see the man call upon his strange powers.

He steps up and takes a look at the door and it's mechanism.

Without a word, Haxtes assists Renik with security. If it does not work: "Conjecture: We must reroute some power to this door. There is energy operating all those cogs."

Renik's ability to pick a lock is not at fault here, he could probably do so, if the lock was actually functioning. There is a no power to the panel, the doors, or the lock, which is causing the mag lock to hold so tightly you have no hopes of opening it. No, there is no way in right now, not without some serious power source or explosives.

The consensus clearly is that they need to move on. Unless they magically summon a Leman Russ main battle tank to blow off the door, they need more power. "Onward to the cores then. The Bridge simply isn't open yet. Haxtes, lead on?"

Haxtes briefly considers if the explosives he is carrying would do the job, but he decides against it. "We shall move to the cogitator core then." If he can, he will lead the group there.

Renik huffs in frustration.. "What is wrong with a simple lock these days..." He grumbles and grudgingly follows Haxtes.

Aesgir nods his approval, "we are going to need something serious to get through this, we might as well find another path."

So the door is left behind and the group starts moving elsewhere, Haxtes says to the Cogitator Core, but that's where you are, seems 'Bridge' and Cogitator Core are one and the same. So you need another location, and Haxtes may have meant the Genatorium. Maybe you can get power there. So you climb through various stairs, and up a ladder, back down one of the bridges that spans high above the gear housing. As you make your way you hear metal banging in the distance that fades as you leave it behind. You reach the door, and find it latched, but not locked, and in moments you have pushed it open and send your lamps in ahead of you.

This large, circular chamber is distorted and befouled by some daemonic presence! Stinking ichor runs down the walls and pulsing, veiny growths cross the floor. A thick, cylindrical shield prevents access to the centre of the room.

Merica wrinkles her nose and says, "Let us cleanse this filth." With a look toward Haxtes she adds, "Get your flamer." The Adepta trooper pulls her sword with her offhand and tests its edge on the nearest daemonic cyst, cleaving right into it center mass. Severing by a vein from the rest of the mass if applicable. They seem immobile to her...
My first thought is that cylindrical "shield" is a containment thing and we need to "kill" the demonic growths to get it to lift containment. Are they connected as a whole creature, or separate from each other? Do they count as demonic for Soul Decay?

Behind his mask Aesgir grimaces upon seeing the ungodly foulness of the daemonic cyst, he takes out his rifle and provides cover for Merica and Haxtes, in case something unexpected happens.
