Daemons in the Machine: Round 2-3

Damien laughs at the pathetic attempts of the daemons to wound him, and thinks that a little humiliation is in order again. "Fall, little creatures. Dance to powers greater than your own!" He again arcs agony through the monsters.
Let's go for another Spasm. 4d10 this time. Hopefully with fewer targets, I can get some harder Tests for them.

Daemons in the Machine: Round 3

Post by Vardaen » Wed Feb 12, 2020 7:49 pm

The battle is fast and furious. Aesgir and his cyber mastiff team up and between the metal jaws of the beast, and a well placed bullet to the head one of the daemons is destroyed in a burst of blood.

Haxtes powers up his luminen blast again and charges one of the bodies with a powerful energy blast. It staggers back before Renik and Merica pounce on it slashing and hacking with knife and sword until it too vanishes back into the warp.

Damien's power is overwhelming at this point and the last daemon falls to the ground shaking and spasmming, lashing out impotently before the group turns on it and finishes it off.

Just like that the infestation of daemons is cleared, for now.
Aesgir: Called Shot Head: PBS: 49 vs 70 Hit for 12 - 6T = 6 Wounds
Cyber Mastiff: Attack 33 vs 35 Hit [Dodge: 88 Fail] Hit for 10 - 6TB = 4 = DEAD

Combat Round 3
Haxtes: Aim. Luminen Blast 55 Hit for 2 or 7 Keep 7+4 = 11 - 6T = 5 DMg
Damien: Spasm : Rolled: 4d10: (10,4,7,8) Totaling: 29 Adding 6 = 35 Success Th7 = +5 Overbleed: WP 11 vs Basically 0 Fail
Renik: Attack 20 Hit for 5 -6T = 0 Dmg
Merica: Gang Up 20 Hit for 13-6= 7 Dmg
Last Daemon: Stands, Attack Damien 66 Miss

Daemons in the Machine: Round 3

The Cult Mechanicus may have strange ideas about the nature of the God-Emperor of Mankind, but he can't disagree with the sentiment in the slightest. "Praise be!" The sanctioned psyker raises his Staff in triumph, reveling in the moment while it lasts.

Daemons in the Machine: Round 3

The only ally casualty in the ensuing fight was Asgeir's hound. These daemons that providence dictated I would confront were my first. Glory to the Emperor, we were victorious.
Merica kneels down and recites a exaltation from rote memory, and stands up. "We should expect more. This place has languished in corruption. Haxtes, would you check the consoles? And can you run a diagnosis on Elihan?"

She traces the daemonic veins to see if they creep in from a source, or from one of the room's exits.
whooo, killed some demons! Did they all fade back into the Warp, or did we perma-kill some of them? It kinda looks like we did.

Aesgir takes a moment to reload his rifle before calling his dog to his side.

Some were perma killed, some faded back into the warp.
The corruption runs deep here, having fed off whatever is inside that center power containment cylinder.

Haxtes moves to a console and finds they are lacking power just like the rest of the complex. However unlike the other areas this one shows some hope of being remotely powered by the Tech Priests own source. He plugs in and bring up a single screen and scrolls through some command controls. The boot is corrupted and not all systems are available, but he decodes from the data a few important pieces of information.

* You are in fact in the central power core.
* The central power core is off line, lacking charged fuel rods.
* Inventory data confirms a containment compartment in the south wall contains 4 fuel rods.
* Inventory data suggests there may be engineering servitors in a nearby storage bay.
* Haxtes power source may be enough to raise the blast shield.

In a monotonous voice, Haxtes recites his findings to his companions. “We try to open the compartment first.” He walks over and tries to get it open.

Haxtes moves to the compartment, and struggles for a moment with the mag lock until he realizes what sort of device he's dealing with. Then it is easy for the Tech Priest. The lead lined compartment opens, and there in small cases are four glowing fuel rods.
