BrenCon 2008: Brennor's First Anual Art Contest!

We would like to announce Brennor's RPG Corner first (hopefully annual) art contest! The administration of the site has decided to host an art contest for a new web title banner. I'm talking about the images at the top of the page that say Brennor's RPG Corner. Our current art was produced by Wargie several years ago and has served us great throughout the years. But we think its time to spice things up around here and we want your help!

So if you are an artist and are looking for something fun to do, here it is! Any member of Brennor's RPG Corner who wants to work on a submission for this is eligible to do so.

Its easy'¦

1. Create an original piece of artwork designed to be the title banner for the site. (Blatant purely copywrited material will not be considered.)

2. Send your submission electronically to Vardaen via email or PM. All submission must be sent in by August 1st to give us enough time vote.

3. Submissions will be posted anonamously for all members of the site to vote on. The collective user base votes will be counted as one 'admin vote'. The admins will then vote on for their favorite, counting your vote among theirs.

4. The winner will be announced at this years BrenCon!

5. The winner will have his or her banner placed at the top of the page for the next year and also will win a special to be announced prize given out at BrenCon (or sent to you if you can not attend).

We hope that this contest will be run annually each year and a new member and a new piece of great art will proudly be displayed on the top of the web site.

All submissions become property of Brennor's RPG Corner and may be used in banner ads or for other real cool uses.

What are the desired image dimensions? Or recommended min/max width & heights?

Also, should the color scheme go for the default theme or are we going to switch up the default theme too?

Some things that should be noted.

Members of the site are not limited in the number of submissions they can make.

Dimentions of the banner should conform to a reasonable size to fit the top of the page. The current banner is 479 x 122, however longer banners are possible to cover more across the top. Less than 800 long however seems reasonable.

Color scheme can fit either the Dragonfly or the cpgnuke theme, or both or none, as long as it looks good.

Probably 480 x 120... I think that is the 'std' banner dimensions... at least those are roughly the dimensions of the images here. Another good size would be 728x120-ish. I'd suggest no taller than 200-ish pixels (that'll be 1/4 of a screen at 800x600).

Feel free to try different sizes though, we'll work around whatever art we get. It may be that different sizes work better for different things, too.

We have received our 2nd submission!

We will start posting these for everyone to look at, but voting won't start until August 1st so you have time still. I'm hoping to see some more submissions. The two we have so far are totally awesome!

We have just recieved submissions from a third person! I'm going to post the various pieces of art here for everyone to look at. Please do not try and vote, voting will not begin until the start of August, but if you want to talk about them, go for it.
