This thread is for Team Bren, for the xCrawl event at this years (2008) BrenCon. I know Bitom tried to set up a email thread but I see no one really replied. So perhaps a thread here will help, it will also spur the other team maybe into working on their stuff too.

Okay, so V managed to twist my arm into playing.

I confess that I haven't been paying a whole lot of attention to the details of this, so I'm waaaay behind the curve in making up a character.

12th Level d20 character.

Group will want to have

1 Healer Type
2 Fighter Types
1 Rogue Type
1 Mage Type

I believe someone is going to be a Half-Ogre warrior or similarly large beasty fighter.

What we are looking for at this stage is a concept, not the details. With a race, gender, class (or weapon type) we can get something to JP. He will be making up 25mm minis for this game, hand painting them for the game. Everyone will get to go home with their mini, win or lose. Trust me, JPs minis rock!

OK, here's what we've stated so far:

Pyg would like to play a big dumb fighter type based on a Shadowrun troll he played in one of my games.

I would like to do something roguish, or range-ish, or both.

Bren has offered to be a healer or spellslinger type

Alright folks we need to have character concepts, races and enjoy info for Figs by June 6th, sow e can let JP know the first weekend in June.

Pyg wants a ogre or half ogre type, since he doesn't connect Bit I need your help talking to him about this.

If you are going ranged Bit, roguish, pick a race and a favored weapon, things like pistols and rifles are also possible. I know MV is playing a Pistoleer in the other group, a ballistic type would be a good counter balance to his group.

Alright guys, I have just heard from JP that Team Local has completed their concepts and have all given JP the ideas for theif figures. That means you guys are loosing the race so far. We are running out of time, so shape up Team Brennor!

Man, I am so dry on ideas for this thing. It's one reason I was reluctant to join at first.

Any thoughts about what might fit in?

12th Level, any d20 options. JP posted a lot of interesting options...

Here's the skinny, I went through a bunch of my figs and came up with some ideas. That doesn't mean you have to choose from them, they're just ideas. I also suggest you look at some sites like Reaper Mini's, Iron Wind Metals and The WarStore.com (Lots of different manufacturer's!!!) to get some ideas. Here's a list of some of my suggestions:

Males: Classes/Prestige Classes

Mage or Cleric- Holding an awesome staff and large scoll out, ready for casting

Elven or Half-Elf Fighter/Halbadier- Nice breast plate/scale mail with cool halberd

Crazy guy with wild hair Barbarian/Shatterskull Adept- No armor, or could be micro-mesh clothing (XCrawl armor), swinging around twin headed morning star/flail

Cleric or Fighter/Golden Grenadier or Demolitionist- Cool desert looking guy with light mace and alchemical bomb getting ready to be thrown. There's a cool Feat that gives you almost a specialization with thrown splash weapons, too! Leather/Chain armor

Rogue/Knimbleknife- Long hair, cool knife, typical looking thiefy type looking to stab someone. Giving the "come here" sign.

Cleric or Necromancer- Bad-Ass with skull staff and cool rune cover robes. Has the long, evil mustache thing happening!

Paladin or Fighter Type, etc- Cool guy with some plate type armor, weilding a huge sledgehammer/two handed war hammer

Noble (Core class I have the book for) or Legend Seeker Class- Wielding a long sword and dagger combo, wearing studded leather armor. Could also be a duelist or showman

Fighter/Spear Sentinal or Straight Fighter- Two weapon fighter of short spear/sword combo, wearing plate type armor

Archer/Pinpointer- Classic archer type, long bow and dagger in boot. No armor or micro-mesh type

Enermancer or Sorcerer- Spear and cool looking "claw glove" on one hand, reaching out as is casting or mocking.

Rouge/Actual Assassin- SWEET fig of rouge leaping through the air, twin knives, in mid air

Chain Specialist- Arabian looking guy, bare chested, blousy pants, swinging weighted chain

""The Red Skull" Disciple of the Wap or Master Fencer- Cool guy with two sabers or epee, all ripped and barechested, with killer skull mask and flowing hair

Sniper Type- Highwayman look with old fashion rifle and short sword side. Could use Pinpointer prestige with this or some other ranged Feats to kick ass!!!

Noble or Ghostly Buccaneer- This is a British Officer fig, Revolutionary War type with saber

Elven Paladin or Arcane Templar- Nice breast plate/scale armor, shield and braod sword combo, really nice fig.

Paladin (Martyr Class)- Full plate with sword, kneeling in prayer

Conquerer (Barbarian Class)- Cool Confrontation fig, rough looking guy with long bow and wicked, busted uo greatsword. Not much armor at all.

Oddballs: Clown and Harlequinn figs- I'm sure we can figure out something for them. MAybe some king of Hedge Wizaed of add class. Oh, and I hate clowns. They're on the same list as midgets!!!

Dwarf Divine Host- Full dwarven plate armor with cool greatsword

Mage/Obsidian Warlock- Dark, hooded mage type with long sword. very Inquisitor looking

Actual Paladin or Fire Knight- Plate mail or field plate with greatsword. Also have the Elven version of this in Chain mail with sword/shield.

"The Chef" Fighter/Actual Assasin- Fat, crazy chef with cleaver and butcher knife combo

Power Class:Gladiator- One with piece-meal armor, hand axe and spiked guantlet and one with banded mail and trident

Dwarven Barbarian- Weilding a sweel great sword and wearing rhino-hide armor!

Fighter/Legionnaire- Very Roman looking, short sword and shield, segmata armor with a little gladiator feel to the fig

Dwarven Enforcer (Druid)- Sweet fig of dwarf wearing robes/clothes, antler headband, wicked looking scythe and a pissed off badger companion

Elven Athlete- Blood bowl fig of an elven prince. Cool armor and carries a football (yes they have football weapons in x-crawl) Like a fighter, but some cool abilities and a prestige class that lets you hail mary people to death!

Elven Athlete/Crimson Pugilist- Piece-meal armor and a wicked spiked guantlet. A serious elf for those that like their wicked side. He lets his fists do the talking!

Females: Class/Prestige

Fighter/Arbalestier or Sorceress- No armor, crossbow and either a whip (Once I fix it) or a knife/wand for the spell flinger

Noblewoman- Cloaked fig with breastplate, armed with sabre/basket hilt broadsword and knife. Long hair and pretty fig

Half Elf Rogue/Actual assasin or Enermancer- No armor and short sword. Very hot with pigtails and skimpy outfit

Elven Fighter/Whip Mistress or wicked Mage/Sorceress- Cool piece-meal armor and a bladed whip!!! Has a las pistol in the other hand that will be taken out and replaced with whatever you want.

Oddball- Huge chick with two meat cleaver like swords (I'm sure I can find something for them in the Arms/Equipment guide) Tall and strong. Kinda skimpy outfit

Fire Knight or Enermancer or Undead Hunter Type- Cloaked fig with some kind of plate, book on her belt and flaming hand and a half sword (bastard sword) Pretty fig!

Elementalist (Cleric)- Sweet Egyptian fig that stands on the steps of a pillar, holding a dagger, hand outstretched

Necromancer- Summoning skeletons up from the base and holding her aloft, sexy bone like clothing (Hardly any) and holding a crystal topped staff made to look like vertabrae

That's the sample of a bunch of stuff I have. One person has already taken the firearms type for a team. That leaves only one other person to choose that. I have the other rifleman on the list hear, but I also have chicks with guns and other figs to play around with. Keep in mind that there are other cool things to try. Like... rollerskates! Think of a rollerskating rogue making driveby stabbings, or a duel wand wielding Wandslinger spilling out spells as they ride around. The ideas are endless. So look, ask questions on the class you don't know about and I can probably email them to you. (RR just updated email to send 20K of stuff from 2K!!!) Talk with you soon.

OK, I had an idea, but I've been afraid to post it for fear that JP would stab me in the face for making him try to find/make a mini for it.

But V told me to post it:
Thri-kreen gunslinger. A big mantis in a duster and a cowboy hat working the 4 gun mojo. Our own personal mobile artillery platform.

Okay, I'm probably going to have a very dull character, since I don't have access (or much knowledge of) most of the stuff pertaining to Xcrawl.

But based entirely on the minis out there, here are some that appeal:

I'd have been keen on trying a gunslinging type, since that's something I've never had the opportunity to really explore. But Bitom seems to have a more fleshed out idea, so I guess that's out.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
