Re: Site for Bren Con 2008!
There is a futon at our house and some floor space. we have cats- and an air matress. which we can put in the dining room if needed. but that's about it. currently- no one has spoken for hte futon space. it would be good for a couple .
We will find this f-ing troll, and kill it's f-ing ass.

Trogdor has already laid claim to our spare bed room.
We have a pull out Twin that someone else could crash on as well. We have cats and a baby that doesn't like to sleep through the night so be warned.

I'd like to officially say "Great job on the location, V & Connie"... They've both been going nuts on the IRC channel trying to get this nailed down for us and have done a great job. Also want to thank JP/Ibberbell for the location.Vardaen wrote:It is offical!
I have secured the tenting for the party.
20ft x 30ft party tent, with 80ft of sides, this leaves one 20ft section open. We also will have a nice lighting globe hanging from the middle for nightime lighting.

Re: Site for Bren Con 2008!
As far as crash space is concerned, we will likely have at least:
1 queen bed
1 twin bed
2 queen air mattresses
A bunch of floor space.
2 people have already laid claim to sleeping locations (Bitom & pygmaelion).
Possibility of more bed space as the date gets nearer (and we actually get into the new place). Our kids will be at Grandma's for the weekend, so no early morning awakenings if you don't want them, though the bus (the pufky van) will be leaving at certain times each day. Will be able to shuttle 6 people (+ driver) around at a time.

I'll actually find the latter part more restful. It's a kid getting up in the middle of the night and its not mine!Vardaen wrote:We have cats and a baby that doesn't like to sleep through the night so be warned.

Last night he slept... well like a baby!
I don't understand that saying, "I slept like a baby." That must mean you work up every few hours, cried for food and your parents and then eventually fell back to sleep after being consoled only to do it again a few hours later. And at some point you either pissed or pooped yourself.
I think I'm never using the saying again.

Nowadays I say "slept like the proverbial baby." That's the proverbial baby who sleeps soundly - unlike the real baby you describe.

Haha... depends on the baby.Vardaen wrote:I don't understand that saying, "I slept like a baby." I think that saying really comes about from the kids that are 1 or two... and sleep for 12 hours at a time. The months old babies never sleep that long ... stomachs aren't big enough.
