BrenCon 2008: BrenCon 2008: Post-Mortem

Post by Brennor » Mon Sep 01, 2008 11:05 pm

Well, BrenCon 2008 has come and gone. It was a great time (at least I had a great time and everyone that I asked had one too). It was great being able to match faces with names.

Pictures of the event will be forthcoming, but for now, I wanted to get everyone's opinions of how the event went this year. I think that this was the best BrenCon yet (retroactively renaming last year's party to BrenCon 2007! ;)). As far as I know most people that attended want to do this again next year.

What did we do right?
What did we do wrong?
What can we do better next year?

Except for the whole PvP problem, I think it went very well.

We have learned that PvP just isn't a good idea when you are playing among friends. No gammer likes to loose, and killing your friend's guys off isn't the right thing to inspire firendship and comadery. Everyone was a good sport about it, but next year no PvP! Team Bren did win however, by a strong victory.

I'm working on a Photobucket gallery for the event, and we have a video as well I'll post shortly. Here is a teaser image of the whole crew. See if you can guess who is who!

Oh, oh! That's me on the utmost right!!! (Guess no one turned me towards the camera so i'm looking far too much to the left.)

Is that BREN in the middle? :P

&The PVP:
Of course they'd win! I was giving Bren invaluable advice all the time!

It was suggested yesterday (at breakfast) that the raffle be tiered next year. to allow bigger prizes and door prizes to be drawn. A good thing to consider. :)
We will find this f-ing troll, and kill it's f-ing ass.

Alright, I've have just shy of 50 images up from BrenCon 2008 in PhotoBucket. Some of these images are tagged so just mouse over the images for extra detail.

I have more images I think and a movie that I will upload later from home.

Check out the album here:

Tet- It didn't work for me until I went to the "Gallery in progress" at http://i537.photobucket.com/albums/ff33 ... encon2008/ to see all the goodness.

The link was broke as I was editing. Things are posted. I suggest anyone else with pictures post them as well. I was planning on doing a play by play blog for folks too, so they know what happened during the weekend, what games we played, etc.

I hope everyone had a good time, and I wanted to thank JP and his wife for allowing us to invade their yard and their house all weekend long!

Also Connie did a kick ass job with the food, no one was hungry, and everything was great! (thanks to everyone that helped Connie do prep and cook as well, there are too many to name easily)
