BC2009: Date?

Post by Bitom » Wed Sep 03, 2008 8:04 pm

I know it's way early to be talking about this, but we discovered in BC2007 that it's way better to be too early.

No decision will be made for some time, but if yu have strong opinions on date, please post them here.

Labor day weekend 2009 is on the 7th, which would make the default "Lets do it again" date be September 4-7, 2009, with Scheduled games occuring on the 5th and 6th.

I don't have a problem with that at the moment. I'm going to do my best to come next year.

I think that a more permanent set of dates would make things run alot smoother for an annual event. Labor Day worked relatively well for me and I would like to see it again. This time without the distractions that drew me away.

It should be good for V and me.

First: Its WAAAAY to early to think about BrenCon.

Second: Labor Day is good for us.

Third: We'll start planning Venue, Food, Door Prize, Raffle, and Games. Already have a dozen things in my head spinning about.

While in some ways, it's too early, in others, I'd rather be too early than have a bunch of people saying "Well, if you'd told me earlier..." which is what keeps happening to us.

I'm not asking everyone to start planning games or the meal-plan yet, but I would like to lock down the date as soon as we can.

Na. The planning of the nerdfest won't begin for months now.

I just want to know when it is so that I know when to start planning.

On the other hand, the Xcrawl game that will be running DURING the nerdfest... planning for THAT started on the way home from the last one.

I'm working two of those days, But I can try to use Personal Leave days or swap with someone. Shouldn't be that big of an issue.
