So.... Should we bring the ones we bought and received, too? Because Max_Power has about half a dozen of your minis standing near his desk.

Re: BC2011: Other games
Is that some kind of game JP? Assemble the minis? Sweet. I'm no so sure you'd want Hayabusa doing that, I saw his painted minis last year - shudder!

Re: BC2011: Other games
Heh, that's just site-based games. Can't keep the momentum going. That's not the fault of the players, but my issue.
A con situation is different though -- hard time limits.

Re: BC2011: Other games
Since I've received other questions about this, will clarify player requirements.
Also, another point of interest -- this is actually a game for a 4h con slot.
This is not just a solo game, but no need to find a big group to play with either.
I have 6 pregens available for this game. I will *NOT* run this with less than 4 players, otherwise it will go VERY poorly for the group.Brennor wrote:Shadowrun 4E adventure that I've had available the previous 3 years (hasn't been run yet) -- 4-6 players required

This is actually a 4E adventure. I forgot I'd updated it (pulled it out again to make sure I had it). Updated main post.
For those of you that are familiar with the acronym, this run is named:BOHICA

Re: BC2011: Other games
If anyone is interested in the Eclipse Phase materials, the main book is available for download from the publishers.
I'll have a printout of the relevant sections of the Quick Start Rules available for actually playing the game though, so no need to download it if you just want to jump into the game at the con.

Re: BC2011: Other games
Does anyone play Nightfall, Thunderstone, or Infinte City?
I believe I have some promo cards/items for those games if anyone does. AEG has seen fit to give me some free things and I like passing on the fun to others.

Re: BC2011: Other games
I've never heard of any of those 3 games...
Nightfall: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/88408/nightfall
Thunderstone: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/53953/thunderstone
Infinite City: http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/46807/infinite-city
All sound interesting at least. Don't know how different they are from other games though.

Re: BC2011: Other games
Thunderstone has similar mechanics to Dominion.
I have played Dominion, so I'll describe that.
Each player starts out with a deck of 10 cards...
You draw 5 of them per turn.
Some of them represent money, others represent victory points, some are actions you can take.
Each turn you take one action (which may do something like "Draw another card" or "other players discard 2 cards" or "+2 money this turn" or "take another action after this one" or "Buy one additional thing this turn"... Heck, it may do more than one of those things).
Then you enter your "Buy" phase. You are allowed one purchase from the table per turn. You can buy wealth (helps you buy more stuff later), Victory Points (counted up at the end of the game to determine the winner, but don't do much in the game itself), or actions (as described above).
Put the card you bought into your discard pile. Discard the five cards from your hand and draw the next five cards. If you can't (because your deck runs out) , shuffle up your discard pile to replenish your deck.
So, around it goes with everyone buying things to put into their deck. The goal is to have lots of victory points at the end, but since victory points don't help you get more victory points, you have to balance out your money, your actions, and your victory points as you are buying stuff.
Of course, Dominion is "generic medieval kingdoms" themed, and Thunder stone is "Fighting for dominance in a dungeoney sort of place with swords and monsters!" , but the whole "drafting a deck game" is similar.
