So not only did I get promo cards for Nightfall, but I got a promo (retailer's) version of the game -- full game! I watched some videos last night on it and it looks fun.

It has a WoD feel to the theme, the sun as permantly set and Nightfall has come, the world mutates (maybe like Shadowrun) and lots of people rise the first night as Vampires, Werewolves, Ghuls, etc... it becoems a powerstruggle among them vs the hunters/human resistance. This all happens in modern day, like last week or something.

The game is a deckbuilding, draft a deck from the game's pool, set up your horde and minions and then, unlike Dominion and Thunderstone you actually interact with the other players. The goal is to inflict as many wounds on the other players as possible so that when the game ends you have the least amount of wound and show your dominace ove the factions (and not die). From all the video reviews (2 that I watched from respected folks) they seemed to like it a alot, and were clear on saying that unlike Thunderstone and Dominion the cutthroat nature of kill the other players made it very different from those two (which they said you often are just playing by youself, with others at the table).

So I'm hoping to give it a test run at BrenCon, is for like 2-6 players so shouldn't be hard.

Oh, cool on the retailer's version of the game. That's awesome. All up for trying it out. Sounded the most interesting of the 3 mentioned (based solely on Board Game Geek info)... and the promo cards can go right into it. :)

Turns out they didn't send promo for Infinte City (but we got some a ways back, I think I had them with me last BrenCon).

Not that I have Thunderstone or Infinate City. So the only new option from me is Nightfall.

I have:

Nightfall
Monkey Lab
Abandon Ship
Straw
Battle of the Bands
Three Dragon Ante
Werewolf (German Version!)

I can bring any or all of them

Maybe Friday night we can give Nightfall a go.

Friday nightfall sounds good to me. As far as the other games, Monkey lab, Abandon Ship, Battle of the Bands, Three Dragon Ante and Werewolf are all good. Haven't played Straw.

Straw is pretty simple card game (like Uno). Don't be the guy that puts too much weight on the camel that breaks its back, unless you do it with the Straw. (AEG game)

You draw a card, play a card, adding the weight of your item to the Camel. There are some reverse or variable cards or copy cards. I nt eend when the camel's back breaks you tally up the remaining weight in your hand and you score that, unless you broken the back, then you score 0, unless you broken the back with the straw, then you score and no one else does. Its pretty easy.

yeah, sounds it. Looked it up on bgg. Camel looks like it can support 50 'points' of weight and straw is 1 point.

I have some good board games I can bring. If you've never played Pandemic or Space Alert, I recommend them both.
