Too cool to let people know you play games? A shame.

I picked up my personal set of L5R Cards for Emperor Edition, the starter decks are very nice with a huge collection of extras with them. They are a bit steep at 25$ a pop, but they come with 3 booster packs (9$) so in the end the price from the old 12$ has only gone up 4$ and for all the goodies it seems totally worth it.

Maybe I'll have a box or two at the event, or bring your own for a good lesson. Check out the Local Game Thread Bren and I posted to for more.

AEG sent me another complete set of demo decks. So that means I'll easily have 2 decks per clan to give away at BrenCon this year.

Buddy of mine in Green Cove Springs just went through his attic and found all my old First Edition/Beta Run cards from Imperial Edition on out. He even managed to find my nasty group deck with 40 Lesser Oni in it LOL. Man that brings back some memories! I had like 2 of each Clan made into decks, all themed, etc.

I had a bunch of my MERP stuff get water damaged in a gaming store's storage closet (about $1100 worth of stuff) so they decided to reimburse me with game crap in lieu of money. Not only did I get my MERP stuff back but TONS of Lo5R cards in the process. I had the largest collection in Jax (like 10-15 Focus cards which was an extreme rarity at the time) and used my surplus cards to get others sucked into the game.

Man I could tell you some tournament stories with that dude Rick and his greasy brother from the Imperial Herald or whatever the league gamers were called. They cheated like mad and hated me when I watched them like a hawk! Poor representation I tell you, poor indeed.

Heh, what would you do with them? They're antiques! Still however, I did have 160 Lesser Oni cards. I fell in love with them at the time and set out to make the ultimate Oni-no-Crushu deck. Succeeded too, won like 6 multiplayer games in a row before they realized they shouldn't let me have time to build LOL. Was nasty scary.
