Ooh, you're bringing cider too. I'm not much for beer, but I love a good cider.

The Wildflower Wheat is also a pretty good beer to sample, if you're not into beer. My wife loves wheat, witbier, Belgian Whites, etc. It's something like a Blue Moon, if you've ever had that. It's pretty good.

Note that these are 'hard ciders' and not just plain cider. I can bring some normal cider, too, but it's not really apple season yet so it won't be fresh from the orchards/farms. We tried to make our own cider last year, but it didn't work well :( We're going to try again this year once the season starts.

I'm familiar with Woodchuck. It's one of the hard ciders I like. But I've never seen the 802 or the Cider maker's choice.

* Woodchuck's - Amber Cider
not bad, a pretty decent thing to give a person and say "This is cider"

* Woodchuck's - Granny Smith Cider
As much as I like granny Smith apples, I can't really get into this one.

* Woodchuck's - 802
Haven't tried it.

* Woodchuck's - Cider makers choice
Didn't like it at all, if I'm remembering correctly. It was very dry, and I prefer sweet Ciders.

Now, on to other suggestions:
  • Hornsby's Amber: Kinda like Woodchuck Amber, but not as good
  • Hornsby's Crisp apple: Excellent, my favorite of the normal-priced mass-produced ciders
  • Angry Orchard Crisp Apple: Tastes the same as Hornsby's to me, except it costs a dollar more and has a cooler label
  • Angry Orchard Ginger cider: Amazing. if you like ginger, or anything slightly spicy, this is the stuff. Sadly, it's inconsistent, and some 6-packs will be VERY gingery, while some just taste like cider.
  • The stuff that I have aging in my living room: Seems promising so far, but you can't have any because it's a one-gallon batch. If it goes well, I may do a real batch and bring some to Brencon 2013.

Cool. Seems like there's a lot of cider fans. Since Woodchuck's is somewhat popular, I'll try to stop by the Bev Warehouse and pick up some more rare or limited release bottles of different kinds of cider.

We tried making our first gallon of cider last season, but it didn't come out right. It never started fermenting in the carboy.

BTW, 802 is Vermont's area code. Just one area code for the whole state... :) Lots of "802" stuff, stickers, shirts, etc. here.

And of course, this is the year I have to miss. Sigh.

Can't recommend This Book enough.
