And don't forget, the bodyguard can protect the sage so the sage doesn't die right away until the WW find the Bodyguard. No one seems to remember that.

My point is, going around saying you are the sage is not a good tactic. It will get you killed. No one will believe you, except the the WWs, who then will kill you.

There is little reason, with a Bodyguard, to not believe. And even if you don't believe them, it is not a good move to hang someone saying htey are the sage round one. Proven by your guys loosing.

The ghost of dead man Deadman appears:

If someone claims to be the sage, at least early in the game it's usually better to trust them and kill the person they suggest.

That way if they aren't the sage you've found a witch at the cost of just one villager. And if they are the sage you haven't killed them.

Of course I was trying to have my cake and eat it too by using Amaris to deliver the message of Bitom's guilt, reveal the witch without giving away my own position. I asked her to trust me and tell a few people that I didn't think were witches that Bitom was a witch.

I was hoping that A) Everyone I asked Amaris to message wasn't a witch and B) That they would trust her. Even if someone was a witch though that's not necessarily a bad thing. If they thought Amaris was the sage they'd go after her instead of me. And she was the bodyguard and could protect herself.

Of course, even burning Amaris night one wouldn't have been a total disaster except that you burned her so quickly. I didn't have time to set anything up in case I died. I had strong reason to suspect od as a witch. If it had looked like everyone was going to kill her I could have asked her to label Bitom and od as witches in her defense speech.

Next time I'm the sage I might just reveal myself as the sage publicly if I find a witch on the first turn. That way I get at least one additional night alive if the bodyguard protects me, and possibly several.

Ah, at least I ferreted one out, though I wasn't the least bit suspicious of od, and Grimbold didn't even register on my radar.

Learn for this game. Listen to me!

But, Grimbold would have been hard to fish out.
