Psst if some one gets protected you aren't supposed to name them. I'd edit it out of your post, but me already knowing already gives an advantage so I don't want to rob other players of that advantage.

Amaris is running this game. And in the surfer game, we found out when someone was protected. We still don't know who the Firewall is however.
During the reboot Vardaen.bat suddenly changes from dressed in a nice corporate suit to some jeans and a relaxed looking tee shirt. "Good-bye PC, I'm a Mac!"

The reboots seems to have turned Vardaean.bat into a 'cool' media driven Mac computer system. His little Apple(tm) logo is covered in glitter and invites old ladies and pre teens as well as thirty something hipsters to join him like the Pied Pipper away from the bloated and annoying hard to use MS Vista PCs.

"So good work Firewall! That thing actually worked this time without slowing down the system too much, even if it didn't take my hints. Now that my Anti-Virus has had a chance to scan the system I say its time to kick off this with some purges of our own. I can tell that Wayloss.qzf is one of the Bonzo Buddy clones, or maybe a Gator friend. I say we delete his profile and make some room for more music and family oriented DVD collages!"

//Om is running. This is the 46710th reboot of Om. Objective 137 enabled: Virus identification.

//Om has been contacted by program identifying itself as TRON, TRON identifies 2 safe programs.

//System error allowed decompile of Illuvian.exe - safe program.

//calculating:

Code: Select all

Probability of virus deletion: 50% if all programs acknowledge 4 known safe programs
//ERROR: 70% of programs do not know all 4 safe programs

//ERROR: recalculating, Viruses have incorporated system Catalog, 50% of programs do not know all 4

//Suggestion sent to TRON: Acknoeledge safety of Illuvien.exe and share data.

//Global status message: recommend deletion of wayloss.qzf

wayloss.qzf finds it's conversion program.

Code: Select all

To: All Programs
From: wayloss.qzf

Re: HOSTILE DELETION

WARNING, DATA AT THIS TIME DOES NOT ENCOURAGE DELETION OF ANY FILE NOT IDENTIFIED AS VIRUS. SYSSTATUS INDICATES CONDITION BETTER THEN PREVIOUS BOOT.
RECOMENDATION:
REBOOT ALLOW ANTI-VIRUS TO CONTINUE WORK.

Bitom do you believe wayloss actually is a virus, or is this a guess?

>Share views on re-boot
We should give it a bit more time this time to let the antivirus software to get a chance to relay news of the scan before deleting, and choosing which program to delete. Though waiting to long could be hazardous to the entire system.

//Om is running. This is the 46710th reboot of Om. Objective 656 enabled: Query response.

//Om is choosing based on the following parameters:

Code: Select all

1) 4 non-viruses are known, based on the information provided to Om by program identifying self as TRON
2) Wayloss.qzf is not on the safe list
3) programs with Virus-combating functions are all on the safe list (Om believes TRON and Firewall are identified)
4) other programs are expendable in the name of system integrity
5) chance of system deleting virus on random selection: 33%
6) chance of Tron identifying a virus during next reboot: 33%
7) chance of TRON identifying a virus during next reboot if an innocent program is deleted this cycle: 40%

//Conclusion: Deleting a program this round significantly increases the chances of system integrity, even if uninfected program is deleted. Om supports deletion. Wayloss.qzf is a random selection. Om will support the deletion of any program not on the safe list. Om will not support reboot without deletion.

//Om cannot share safe list, potential for virus use could be catastrophic, but all members of safe list are aware of entire list, there will be 4 votes against deleting any member of the safe list. Deletion of any safe-list member is highly unlikely.

wayloss.qzf delivers another message.

Code: Select all

TO: ALL PROGRAMS
FROM: wayloss.qzf

RE: RANDOM DELETION PROTOCOL

RECOMMENDS DELETION OF PROGRAM WITH LOW ACTIVITY PROFILE FOR
RANDOM DELETION. PREVIOUS DATA SUGGESTS PROGRAMS IN
BACKGROUND HAVE A HIGH PROBABILITY OF HOSTILE INTENT.
STILL MAINTAIN NON-RANDOM DELETION RECOMMENDATION. PROBABILITY OF DELETION OF STABLE PROGRAM HIGH, PROBABILITY OF
VIRUS CORRUPTION OF STABLE PROGRAM OR SAFE PROGRAM
INCREASES VIRAL THREAT.

//IT APPEARS VARDEN.BAT CALLED FOR DELETION OF wayloss.qzf
OM SECONDED NOMINATION.
THERFORE wayloss.qzf SUBJECT TO DELETION PROTOCOL

ALL PROGRAMS NOTE wayloss.qzf NOT HOSTILE,
wayloss.qzf HAS DONE NOTHING TO BE SUBJECT TO DELETION
PROTOCOL. RECOMEND SAVING OF FILE wayloss.qzf ALLOW TIME FOR
ANTI-VIRUS TO SECURE MORE SAFE PROGRAMS. DO NOT DELETE wayloss.qzf.
PLEASE VOTE WISELY
