I'm using OCTGN for Game of Thrones right now. Works pretty well.

That is what Gempukku looked like for L5R. I haven't updated it in a long while, it was good for deck building ideas. The cardgmedb.com is good for deck building stuff without the interface for playing.

Hey guys I can probably do Thurs the 6th, if the wife's plans to hang out with her friend works out. I'd have the baby, but that won't stop me from playing.

Tet linked me to this

This program is pretty good.

You can get it at:

www.octgn.net/

For the LotR LCG, go here:

octgn.gamersjudgement....php?id=25#

I have installed it and downloaded the packs. Looks good. Not as easy to make a deck as the cardgamedb but still not very hard. And the virtual tabletop allows online play!

We played staggerd games last night.

First JP and MV came over and we tackled the third adventure of the base set. Escape of Dul Guldur. This adventure includes having one of our heroes captured and out of play for half the game and when he returns a Nazgul joins the fight!

Bren and I already did this one, so now it was Jp ( Elf Ranged Attack), MV (Angry Dwarves), and me (Elrond's Council). These are basically the same decks we had before with a few card tweaks and changes for new things I picked up at xmass time.

So we started the game, three of us, and Legolas was the prisoner, (this has happened 2 times now). Apparently he isn't as good a scout as he thinks he is. So that put JP in trouble right at the start. An Orc Jailor was guarding one of the Objective cards so we had to draw him early and we were able to. Things were going alright, not great, but we were hanging in there. Eventually freed Legolas and got us back on track. A one round fight with the Nazgul and it went down! Then things took a bad turn, we reshuffled the encounter deck and had some really bad draws, loosing out hands, and even having my Bilbo Baggins die! He was caring an objective card so that hurt. We managed to grab the rest of the objectives and start on the last stage of the quest.

We muscled through and finished the game 1 turn before we were going to loose it. The big problem was we had so much threat, and if you get to 50 you are out of the game. When the game ended I had 49 Threat, JP had 48, and MV had 46.

We pulled out a victory with 162 points, which I doubt was very good since we had 1 dead hero and lots of wounds on people, but we did have 19 victory points just from dead enemies!
Then Brennor showed up as MV was leaving. We chit chatted and then JP headed out as well. So Bren and I started up the next quest in theDwarrowdelf cycle, Road to Rivendell. Previously we aided Arwen in escorting her over the Red Horn Pass to Hollin. Now we had to travel up the western side of the mountains to Rivendell. Wolves and orcs giving chase.

We both took new decks, I used a Rohan Spirit/Questing deck and he had a Gondorian deck lead by Aragorn. Both decks are untested, and both aren't terribly strong on combat. That proved trouble. Still, we did pretty good. The trick of this adventure was Ambush. Where monsters come out into the staging area and instantly attack you before the combat phase, so they end up attacking you several times in a turn!

We knocked off the 20 quest point stage one and drew up near to Goblin Gate, even with the ambush going on we were holding on. Aragorn was a big gun with +5 Quest and the ability to keep straight after questing. Dunhere which I was hoping would be a big help in attacking guys in the staging area proved weaker than expected. In stage two we had alot of people attacking us and I pulled a trick letting Dunhere die, which set off Imrahil's ability and then I brought him back from the dead! That worked well. With threat in the high 30s we were looking good to win in about 2 rounds. Then we drew Sleeping Sentry.

"When Revealed: Deal 1 damage to each exhausted character. Then, exhaust all ready characters.
Shadow: Defending player must discard all exhausted characters he controls. "

I bolded the part that got us. That triggered against me in a fight, I lost Eowyn a hero, a Rohan ally, and Arwen the quest focus. Since Arwen left play we lost the game!!!! Just like that BOOM game over. THAT really sucked cause we figured it out and we would have won next turn. Oh well, can't fall asleep on guard duty I guess.

Thank goodness Gimli had brought that box of mithril band aids with him. He had eight wounds on him at the end of the game...
