More victory for me,

So I listen to the Cardboard of the Ring Podcast for the LOTR LCG.
http://cardboardoftherings.com/

Great show, long running, fun guys. They do a Twitch.tv stream bi weekly as well, and last night was the New Year's Even twitch, with a really great give away.

Big quiz using Kahoot, some 55 people playing, all about the card game and the pod cast, and little old me won! The entire next Cycle is on the house from COTR! That's a years worth of cards for free.

These guys are great, if you like LOTR LCG go check them out!

A Descent into adventure!

Image

Eilandor brought over Descent 2nd Edition last night and we gave the opening encounter a try. Learning the rules didn't take long, and we were soon butchering Ettins left and right (but couldn't seem to kill the goblins!).

Our group of 4 adventurers played...
Avric Albright (Cleric type) - Avric was played by a new member to the group, he had a good time and will be back.

Jain Fairwood (Rogue type) - The first time through our player used the burglar variant it was useless. the second time he was an archer and the player's actions were useless! Going to have to school him on helping!

Widow Tarha (Wizard type) - This character was pretty potent and helped taken down the boss both games.

Syndrael (Fighter type) - Decent warrior and added to the death of the boss. This was mine.

I like how each character has 2 class options, with vary different feel to each option. We tried both for the most part for our guys. Both games we beat the evil overload Eilandor. The corners got him, restrictions you'd expect on a map here, don't apply there!

Over all good time, highly suggest it.

Then we played some Nightfall, Eastern Skies expansion, but ran out of time. Jain Fairwood's player won the shortened version with 0 wounds!

Nope, we don't have that one yet. Its basically Descent for Star Wars, with a PvP Element added in right? Perhaps I'll pick that up instead of my own Descent copy.

No real PvP. One person players the DM, just like Descent.

EDIT: You can play skirmish mode that is 1 v 1.

Yeah, the Skirmish is what I was referring to for PvP which is pretty neat for added replay.

As it stand we have too many games and not enough time.

I hear you. We're having a game day on Sunday. Mission: Red Planet and then BSG, then whatever.

Our weekends are generally so booked we couldn't do that. not to mention everyone has 2+ kids. So once a week late nights it is.
