Ring of Air - Magistrates at Midnight

Beyond the boarders of the Emerald Empire lies a vast and diverse world centered around the Burning Sands -- a place cursed by Shilah the Sun and Kaleel the Moon. For too long the Samurai in Rokugan have remained ignorant of the greater world around them.

As Muketsu speaks Umeko rises from her bow eyeing the Shiba carefully as he speaks she debates on her next step, she realizes she is confronted with men of Honor and that telling her tale will surely sporn them to action. She begins to speak her voice level if quite so as to better catch the attention of her listeners "I am fully aware of the time of night Shiba Muketsu-sama and trust me that I would not stand before you know in such a state" she says a quick glance and wave of her left hand excusing her bloodied Kiomono "if not for special circumstances. I myself had already layed down to rest today when I awoke my Daisho stolen and my senses numbed by poison. This occured in the House of Lost Ambition. As I woke the other Samurai retyring there were doing battle with heimin robbers, their weapons stolen as well. One of the Heimin was captured while the others escaped. The captured criminal confesed to where the others had escaped too and so myself and the other 4 Samurai sought out the warehouse and dispatched the heimin and their leader a Ronin by the name of Fusawa. After the battle we found many more Samurai weapons as well as additional doses of the poison of which Bayushi Sirei crafted an antidote to save all our lives. It was our fear that many more Samurai have been poisoned tonight and thus I have come here to you tonight to report this henious crime and for these men and womens sake."

Shiba Muketsu listens to the Crab woman explain her situation, the Yorikki seems very interested in the situation as she tells it. "Hemin and Ronin robbing and poisoning Samurai while they sleep? It sounds like something you would see in a Kabuki in The Floating World*" The Phoenix looks at the other guard, and the two consider amoment. Muketsu turns back to Umeko. "I shall send for the Magistrate. If you would be so kind as to wait inside, or perhaps you would care to clean up before Shiba Dorutsume-sama speaks to you?" The Shiba motions toward the door of the station, suggeting where the Crab will wait -- indoors.

* The Floating World is a district filled with Geisha Houses, Sake Houses, Gambling Dens, and Theaters. A pleasure district where samurai are allowed to endulge their emotions if done discretly.

Umeko throws a look over her shoulder towards where Sirei stands but she cannot spot him. She then takes the steps up into the magistrates station displaying the pleasant smile of a lady and goes inside to clean herself before her meeting with the magistrate.

Seirei stands in the shadows he leans heavily upon a wall. His wounds on the opposite side of his body sending blood down his side. He begins to think that this was a bad idea, he should have gone to the temple. His wounds are painful and interfering with his movement. He decides that it would be smart to stay in the shadows and wait for Umeko to get back...

Umeko glances back into the shadows, but Seirei is too deep in them to be seen. The Shiba guard escorts the Hirum up the stairs to the front door of the Magistrate Station and opens it, "There is a small waiting room, I'll see about bringing you a basin and some water to wash with." The Scorpion's wounds are troubling him more and more now that the thrill of battle is fading. Its possible he could be standing here, in the shadows for hours slowly getting worse.

When the Phoenix departs Umeko begins washing herself, hoping this will go swiftly for the sake of the Scorpion waiting outside.

Umeko stands in the waiting chamber, a basin of water and a towel brought to her to clean up with. Her wound from the hemin in the warehouse is hurting the woman now more than before. Cleaning herself up she prepairs to meet the magistrate.

The Scorpion outside sits in the shadows, badly wounded, only a short time ago he was nearly dead. What will Seirei do now.

Seirei decides that he can not wait forever. His side still bleeding and his vision somewhat blurred. The poison in his Kimono must get to the Magistrates office. He takes several waivering steps forward. Withdrawing the bottles from his kimono. He moves to the guards caring not for their reactions he states firmly; "I am Bayushi Seirei, My companion Hiruma Umeko has just entered this office. She must present these to the Magistrate." He holds out the bottles of poison "They are proof of the crimes that have taken place this night. Please tell her that I will be at the nearest temple I can find. I must be healed and cleansed. Konban-wa..." And without another word Seirei walks of into the night...

The Shiba guards come at Seirei with nagigata leveled at the bloodied man appearing from the shadows. They don't however attack. Noding they take the bottle of poison, and head inside with it.

"Hirruma Umeko-san, a man outside, Bayushi Seirei by name, brought this for you to delieve to the magistrate. He looked wounded, and said he needed to seek healing at a temple." Setting the bottle down next to the Crab, the guard looks at the bottle. "What is within this?" He clearly isn't going to just let the Crab woman have a bottle of deadly poison in her possession when she meets with the Magistrate.

Seirei limps off and finds himself at the Temple of One Thousand Fortunes just as the others are getting ready to head to the baths...
Seirei you will join the other thread. I'll post you in there.

Umeko points at the bottles "This is an antidote created by Sirei-san, and this is the original poison, Night Silk I believed he called it. Do you wish to safeguard it until Shiba Dorimutsu-sama arrives?" she replies with an even leveled voice to the Yoriki.
