Ring of Air - Chopsticks and Daishos

Beyond the boarders of the Emerald Empire lies a vast and diverse world centered around the Burning Sands -- a place cursed by Shilah the Sun and Kaleel the Moon. For too long the Samurai in Rokugan have remained ignorant of the greater world around them.

Tokugawa is about to shatter the monk Masu's windpipe when the Kuni knocks him clear and blocks the downed man. There is a moment of stand off, but the Kuni has prevented Tokugawa from killing Masu, for now.

The shugenja kneels and wraps the man's wounds, stopping the bleeding, but Masu will need far more healing before he wakes.

When Tokugawa is knocked aside, he immediately wheels around, drawing a willow leaf and setting it upon the string. He points his longbow at the Kuni. "What are you doing, you uncouth bag of Jade." He growls, "You need to go back to your Wall so you can do what you know to do. We have no time to question this man, move to the other monks, after we defeat them. You are wasting time! The others will soon be under attack."

The shugenja sits calmly next to the corrupt Monk. A slight smile is on his face, the usual expression he has when he knows he faces death, and may at any moment be called before Emma-O for judgment. "This is the Shrine of Duty. It is highly unlikely that everyone here has been corrupted. It is likely that many of the others are noble and naive, and are completely unaware of the actions of this disgusting filth and his kindred. I for one will not be party to slaughtering innocents. We are more than enough to overpower those who threaten, and to ferret out the truth."

Tokugawa grunts, lowering his bow and placing the arrow back into its quiver. "Never touch me again," he warns, "Next time I shall not be so forgiving." He turns, walks a few paces away, and starts keeping a look out. He calls back, "If you are going to question him, make it quick."

Kuni Zenko nods in acceptance, turning his attention back to their fallen enemy. "It may be wisest for you or the peasant to retrieve our companions, while I stand guard over this body. I can revive him to bare consciousness and start to question him, while the rest of you find his accomplices. We have just revealed ourselves, and must move swiftly to prevent his partners in crime for understanding what is going on and escaping. For example, I doubt the other Monk who Masu dismissed was part of his scheme, or both would have attacked." Pulling out his scrolls, he begins to speak softly to the kami around him, the power of the object and his connection with the unseen spirits effecting the world in ways no man can fully understand.
Path to Inner Peace on the Monk. Trying to edge him up to the 'Down' wound rank. Will repeat once if not successful. If the first one fails because my 3k2 cannot meet the TN 15, then toss in a void point on the second.

Hideo watches the exchange between the two samurai, as he stands there confused by they're actions. The only thing he's certain of is he's not used to how non-Crane samurai interact with eachother.

Saying nothing, and using the Kuni's mention of finding the others as an excuse to leave, he bows to the other two, and runs back towards the temple, as quickly as he can, while carrying Kijuro's blanket wrapped Dashio.

Tokugawa lets the peasant go. He returns his attention to the monk, interested in what he might say. The Mantis waits impatiently as he waits for the Kuni.

Hideo takes off up the stairs of the temple seeking his master, and racing to be away from the Crab and the Mantis, certainly he's never worked for such uncouth men before...

Zenko kneels over the monk Masu and draws a scroll. He calls on the kami, who almost refuse to come to him, but he insists. Masu's body walks the Path to Inner Peace, and sputters awake. His eyes are glassy, his body broken with the arrow, he simply lays there looking up at the sky and mutters, "Master, have you come for me?"

Tokugawa stands watching.

The Mantis grunts, but holds his tongue. He knows his line of questioning might not help the situation. Tokugawa has calmed down after being pushed aside by the Kuni. He lets the Witch Hunter to the talking, and when he hears the man's words, he thinks that a Witch Hunter is exactly what they probably need.

The End

As the Mantis and the Crab lean over the downed Masu, the others arrive lead by Hideo. Kijuro, Ryuichi and Umeko all arrive following the hemin as you tend to the monk.
Ok the groups are back together. Please post in the main thread now. Thanks.
