Discipline of Black Magic: With Friends Like These

Beyond the boarders of the Emerald Empire lies a vast and diverse world centered around the Burning Sands -- a place cursed by Shilah the Sun and Kaleel the Moon. For too long the Samurai in Rokugan have remained ignorant of the greater world around them.
A danger is rising, but is it too late for the children of the Kami? Only you know that answer.Run by the Game Master Moto Vardaen

Fesal picks up a nice sized vase with a good handhold on it, he asks how much it will cost and the shopkeep puts a hand to his lip and taps it. He doesn't take it just yet, "Well that is a sepcial vase, took me a long time to blow..." the haggling process can take several minutes and the glassblower is just about to begin it. He reaches out to take the vase when a viper's head pops out of the vase. It hisses loudly and strikes at the glassblower.

The man screams and drops the vase, it shatters on he ground at his feet and he leaps back clutching at his arm where the snake 'hit' but obviously did not harm him. "Cobra!" The man leaps over the stall shattering vases and trinkets as he tries to escape the snake.
Snake: 2 Senses. +10 TN = TN 25
Water Ring/Rank = 5k3 + Void = 6k4 = 34 Success!
A sudden waves of panic washes over the merchants on either side of the glassblower's stall and other patrons begins to hustle and flee. The perfect sort of situtaion for Halil has been created. The man at his side looks with eyes wide, "No my liver!" He hurries to escape the panicing crowd bumping into Halil as he races away into the market place.

Attempting to play in the whole game Halil rushes through the merchant's stall picking up a vace while doing so, for he might still need a weapon later on. He then moves out of the commotion and when it has settled down looks for the goats milk and the sugar dates remaining weary of one particular stranger all the while.

Halil manages to get free of the comotion that dies down rather quickly as no cobra is ever seen after the first attack of it. Collecting himself and his items the house servant of the Customs Officer goes on to finish his task. At some point his hand dips into his pocket to collect some coins to buy the dates and finds that someone slipped a note in there! Thinking back Halil realizes that it could have been the man following him when he was bumped into.

Halil takes care of his errands and exits the market before drawing out the note and reading it. He is somewhat confused and feels he might have overreacted but is sure that his actions likely did not blow his cover.

Slipping into a private enough street Halil wonders if he over reacted or not, either way here is the note. Unfolding it he goes on to read the script in a bold hand.

Effendi

Word has reached our ears that you Master has been cheating on his wife with a Ra'Shari dancer named Shalimar. An important shipment is to arrive in the next few weeks, make sure before that shipment arrives his wife is driven mad with this information. Feed it to her little by little like a sugar date to a camel.

The Dealer

For the last month or more Halil has kept a close watch on his new master the Customs Officer, and is certain the man isn't cheating on his wife. So clearly this must be your next assignment. Make people thingk he is, espcially his wife.

Ka'bashi's life was rather dull, at least that was Halil's impression. Sure she was married to a wealthy and respectable man who loved her dearly and whom she loved dearly but her daily affairs were striken with boredom. Her days were mainly filled with for her husband and to treat him and adore him once he was back for work Halil made sure that this day would not be one where the return of her man would lead to much enjoyment. As he was mainly responsible for aranging the custom's officer's meetings and duties he ensured that on this day he would return home very late a fact that usually helped to increase family strife. When Fesal returned to the home Ka'bashi had enquired when her husband would return to which he responded that he'd likely be home soon as there was only a delivery of fruits still to take care of. What he did not mention is that within this delivery her husband would likely find some coffee that did not belong there...
Much later that evening when the custom's officer returned home Fesal greeted him with a smile at the doorand as he passed him by and his wife approched to hug him Halil enchanted the mans robe with the slightest of glammers one that would give it the distinct smell of perfume... another woman's perfume.
Fesal all the while stood there smiling watching the lovers...

Halil is good at his job it would seem, for the next several weeks he subtly drops hints and creates tension among the household. The smell of a purefume on his clothing that isn't his wife's is easily dismissed, but coupled with an extra set of coffee cups, late hours, conflicting schedules, the occational ruffled chador, a woman's purfume again? Little by little Halil plants the seeds that will sow chaos in the house. This continues like this for a while longer. He watches as Ka'bashi becomes more and more paranoid, more and more worried, and more and more jealous. It isn't uncommon for a man to have more than one wife in the Burning Sands, many powerful men have an entire Harem of them, but in this case the two married and sword to a single union.
That was pefectly played mack, just what I was expecting!
** Six Weeks Later, Two Days Ago **

Tensions are rising in the house, and Fadil bin Masruq is suffering under the anger of his wife, who has all but come out and accused him of cheating on her with another woman. The other house servants are on edge, keeping their distance, and twice Halil has caught them disposing of 'evidence' he's planted in the house before Ka'bashi could find it just to keep tensions low. They whisper however, they whisper very very much now about the 'cheating heart' of their master.

Halil is sitting in front of the house, simply getting some air and drinking a cool juice as Fadil and Ka'bashi argue upstairs about his late arrival yet again. The rest of the house is silent as the master and the mistress' voice carry through the night air.

A dark figure appears in the shadows across the street, the glint on the scabard of a scimitar just visible in the light of Lady Moon. The figure beakons Halil to join him.

Halil even while relaxing is ever vigilant and closely watches his surroundings for any one who might be watching him. Then he rises slowly walks towards the Dates tree and picks a particularly lucious fruit before disappearing it would seem, if anyone had been watching, and standing on the other side of the mansions wall.
Thanks. Having watched lots of desperate housewives with my girldfriend lately certainly helped in the process...

Picking a fruit from the date tree Halil easily slips away from the house. Everyone at home is too worried about the fighting master and mistress to notice anyhow. The scimitar clad figure bows to Halil. "The time has come. The Dealer has sent me with a message Halil." The man is standing in the shadows and as such he is hard to see under his cloth wraps. Metal and leather gauntlets adorn his hands as he moves them as he speaks. "In two days time the Ra'shari girl will arrive to cement your ploy. You know the schedule of your Customs Offical, see to it that she meets him in an out of the way place somewhere that his wife will find them both. Tomorrow return to the coffee house where you first met The Dealer, there you will meet a man that will complete this mission for us. Do you understand?" The shadow clad man awaits a reply, he wants to make sure Halil understands exactly what is needed here.

"I understand you very well. But you clerly do not understand that my line of work requires discretion and that I a man who came here from the sugar palms estates knows no one in this town especially not armed men bearing swords..." with that a somewhat angry Halil disappears and Fesal strolls forth from the date tree enjoying what seems to be a particularly tasty date. The next day he arranges for a shopping chore and looks by a special little coffee house for some of the best sugar dates in the city...
