Diplomacy is a strategic board game. Its main distinction from most board wargames is negotiation: Players spend much of their time forming (and betraying) alliances with other players. Set in Europe just before the beginning of World War I , Diplomacy is played by seven players, each controlling the armed forces of a major European power.

If a unit is set to Hold, and another attacks that space. So you have 1 Defending and 1 Attacking, what is the result? Does the attacker bounce, or do both units retreat, or is the attacker defeated? I'm a bit lost still.
What happens if two units attack each other. Say for example Serbia Attacks Bulgaria and Bulgaria Attacks Serbia?

If one unit attacks another unit (both have 1) nothing happens. Both stay at their place. This means with a move order you can enter a free space, but if it is occupied, you need support from at least one unit. If the defending unit gets help with its holding, you need more etc.
No, if the defender wins, the attack is repelled, and the attacker does not move. A unit is only disbanded, (a) if the nation controls to few supply centers or (b) it must retreat but cannot (if the ruler then controls enough supply centers in the fall, he/she can build again.
Keep in mind you can also support or convoy units from other nations (you just need to harmonize your orders...). Forming alliances is a crucial part of the game.
