Chapter Three - Sargasso

The first Savage Tide has already touched the mortal world, yet none who live today recall this terrible time of red ruin. It swept over an ancient city, transforming beggar and noble, merchant and thief, resident and visitor, one and all into feral, ravenous fiends. What took the ancients hundreds of years to build came crumbling down in a matter of days. When the final ripples of the tide faded, only ruins remained.

Now, after a thousand years, the hidden architect of the Savage Tide gazes upon new targets. This time, the doom will not be limited to one hapless city. This time, all of civilization is perched on the shore, blissfully ignorant of what the tide is about to bring in.

A very angry manta ray swims underneath the Sea Wyvern wielding what looks to be a dwarven battle axe in two muscular arms. With a massive crash it engages the humongeous wurm burrowing itslef into it's side.
So obviously rage and turn on ranger's focus on masher. Swim while drawing axe as part of move action then attack two handed.

Fin's visage darkens as the lower portion of Lirith Veldirose falls on the deck before him. The priest of Procan raises his arms, a mixture of anger and sorrow showing on his face, as he offers a simple prayer to the Stormlord: "Procan, focus your wrath on this enemy of your follower."
Cast Call Lightning, focusing the first bolt on the masher.

After being knocked to the deck, Wavedancer begins to pick himself up when suddenly a giant sea serpent burst forth from the water. With the world suddenly slowing down, Wavedancer says a silent prayer to Wee-Jas while digging out two wands from his scroll pouch. In one, an ember colored wand that is smooth and round, the other, a pitch black wand that is gnarled and in disarray.

Pointing the black and gnarled wand at the creature, Wavedancer sends a ribbon black as the night at the monster hoping to weaken it just enough to give the crew a chance at life.
Move: Draw my wands. Standard: Activate Wand of Ray of Enfeeblement targeting the Masher.

Over as soon as it began

Fin reacts first to the masher's slaying of Lirith. He calls upon the power of the storm around you, and it replies. A huge bolt of lightning drops from the sky and strikes the masher in the back, knocking off several spines and charring some of its flesh.

Wavedancer is next, drawing his wand and casting a spell that weakens the masher, lessening the threat it poses.

Daerith then moves forward and unleashes a bolt of fire from Torothalion that strikes the masher in the belly. Soon the smell of burning fish fills the air.

Chanur moves forward, drawing his rapier and slashing out at the fish that dared to kill one of his crew. But as he does, the masher ejects fly one of the spikes from its back at the captain of the Sea Wyvern. It scrapes across the half-elf's arm, opening a nasty cut. But Chanur resists the effects of the poison.

Then Konrad moves forward. Fortunately, with the danger of having to abandon ship being real, he has his armor on and his sword strapped to his back. Slipping the sword from the sheath, he steps forward and slashes a very deep cut in the belly of the fish, right under Daerith's scorch mark. The masher replies with another spike, this one aimed at Konrad. This one hits the fighter right in the neck, pumping poison right into his bloodstream. Immediately the man weakens and staggers.

As this is going on above the waterline, a very odd manta ray moves in below. Wielding an axe, it moves and slashes at the fish from below. The axe cut slices the bottom third of the fish off, causing it to shudder and die. But even as it does so, it releases one last spike that hits the manta ray on one wing. But though he looks like a manta, Berek is still a dwarf at heart, and he brushes off the poison as if it were nothing.

And almost as fast as it started, the fight is over.

Daerith leaps down the stairs toward Konrad as the man falters and staggers, "Poison! Fin! Fin! Quickly, Konrad needs you." The Magus draws a vial from his sash and shoves it into Konrad's mouth, "Drink, drink damn it." The anti toxin gurgles down the man's throat hopefully in time to help him purge the masher poison from his system.
Let's get an anti toxin into Konrad ASAP before he drops another 5 con on us.

Fin rushes over to Conrad and, seeing the man shivering as he fails to fight off the poison, knows what needs to be done. First Fin prays to Procan to alleviate the poison's immediate symptoms. Thereafter he begins to administer care using more mundane means to complement Daerith's antitoxin.

"Procan willing, we'll get you taken care of. There's no need for two to be lost today. Everyone else, stay back and let the man get some air. Better yet, get to work as best you can, we've still got to clear this reef and fast!"
Cast Lesser Restoration on Conrad, then use the Treat Poison application of the healing skill to aid his next save.
Doh! Don't have Neutralize Poison memorized. All together he'll still have a +9 to save, in addition to his own bonuses as a fighter so at least there's that. Sheet updated to show spell expenditure.

Chanur stumbles over to what's left of Lirith dropping his blades on the deck and falling to his knee's. He picks up what ever of her body is laying there and cradles it a moment his head hung.
"She never had a chance..."

He mumbles mostly to himself. Sitting there a moment he finally stands and recovers his weapons.

"By Procan get my ship off these blasted rocks! Go hurry Daerith and Fin are attending to Konrad. "

Approaching Daerith the captain is drenched in blood, none of it his. "Will Konrad be safe?"

Daerith stands up and let's Fin get in and deal with Konrad, "He needs to fight the poison off, from what I read about mashers their poison is very deadly, it can kill small children in a single touch, and bigger men in a matter of minutes. We need to pray the anti venom and Fin's touch can help Konrad stave off the effects. We've done what we can Captain. We need to get off this reef before there is no ship left below us." Daerith will return to work, his Unseen Servant working, and the floating disk at his side, he helps Chanur put Lirith's corpse on it so it doesn't get washed out to sea.
