Act 2 - Crown of the Kobold King

The Age of Magic is ended, Bhall, the Goddess of Fire, has succumbed to the whispers of Agares and fallen into Hell. Her worshipers and creations driven mad, and fire, which has been a powerful ally to man, has turned against him. Each good god was charged with the opposition of an evil god. Bhall was responsible for balancing Mulcarn, the God of Winter. Finding himself unopposed Mulcarn has broken The Compact and moved into Creation.

Creation was on the verge of another open war between the gods, that which they had outlawed with The Compact. To keep that from happening a deal was struck and the gods agreed that one god would enter Creation to challenge Mulcarn. That was Sucellus, the God of Nature. The two gods battled across the face of Creation, entire civilizations still recovering from the Burning Skies that marked the fall of Bhall were destroyed by their power. In the end Sucellus was killed and Mulcarn remained.

The Eternal Winter has begun...

The Kreed Manor

Post by Vardaen » Tue Nov 22, 2011 11:45 pm

Edgrin shakes his head, "I'm no resident, my friends and I were only passing through. Come north to try our hand at adventure up this way. I only know what one picks up from a few days in the town, it's enough, I assure you, but..." he looks over at Jurin standing with Celevan, "We can talk about it later."

The group then is ready and you head out into the cold winter streets of Falcon's Hollow. The winter is here, months early, and it is here to stay (little do you realize its here to stay for the next 400 years or so). You tromp down the road to the market, all closed up, even the night one, and you turn east and head up the rise toward the Lumber Consortium headquarters and Kreeds home.

The group is heading up the walk to the front door of the large estate. It is easily the most lavish, largest, and grandist building in all of Falcon's Hollow. Nearby is the High Market, now closed at this hour, and the rarely used Lumber Consortium guildhall as well as other wealthy homes. The lamp above the door is lit, the rope for the bell awaits a hand to ring it. As you walk your breath escapes your mouth and in the frozen air it hangs there heavy. Noses red, hands cold, you rub them and think to go for the bell rope.

Then Jurin moves forward and turns the knob on the door to his house and pushes the door open. The light inside shines out as some warmth comes out in waves as well. "Come on in." The young lad tromps inside and yells, "DAD! I'm home!"

Celevan steps into the house and to the side to let the others in behind him. But he stays in the entry hall, waiting to be invited farther in by Kreed or his representative.

Torias follows, his bald tatooed head turning this way and that, looking around. He stays close to his brother, mumbling something inaudible - probably in Kilmor.

Dreams follows the others in, standing straight and proud. They have nothing to be ashamed of and if Kreed tries to make them feel so, she is willing to face him down.

Syrronas has quietly followed the group in. grinning at the child returning home and the prospect of warmth in the house. In the warmth he is able to straighten and stand normally breaking from the hunched posture the cold eventually makes you take. He is glad for his winter clothing.

The group pushes into the house one by one making room for the others. Jurin runs down the hall just as a figure steps into the doorway. The hulking form of Payday nearly knocks Jurin over. He's squat, round, muscled and strangely really does look like the kobold mine foreman from the caves. "What's dis about?!" He snarls, air blowing through his broken nose with a whistle. About to get angry his eyes rise from Jurin to the group of you at the door. "Well look what we have hear. Thought you bunch died." He grabs Jurin on the shoulder, "Your father is in his study, he'll want to see you go find him."

The boy nods to Payday and slips between him and the door way and vanishes into the house. The lumber foreman stalks down the hall, "Well! Close the damn door you're letting all of winter in!"

"Ah, it's good to know we're welcome here," says Dreams swiftly shutting the door.

Celevan nods, but makes no reply to Payday's comment. Instead he moves forward and says, "I assume Mr. Kreed will want to speak with us."

Torias just smiles vaguely at Payday. Then the dwarf rubs his hands to get some warmth back into them...

Torrak does not smile. He merely stands there, never once lowering his guard towards Payday. The dwarf does however, make sure that someone at least shuts the door, if it's not done so already.
