The Age of Magic is ended, Bhall, the Goddess of Fire, has succumbed to the whispers of Agares and fallen into Hell. Her worshipers and creations driven mad, and fire, which has been a powerful ally to man, has turned against him. Each good god was charged with the opposition of an evil god. Bhall was responsible for balancing Mulcarn, the God of Winter. Finding himself unopposed Mulcarn has broken The Compact and moved into Creation.
Creation was on the verge of another open war between the gods, that which they had outlawed with The Compact. To keep that from happening a deal was struck and the gods agreed that one god would enter Creation to challenge Mulcarn. That was Sucellus, the God of Nature. The two gods battled across the face of Creation, entire civilizations still recovering from the Burning Skies that marked the fall of Bhall were destroyed by their power. In the end Sucellus was killed and Mulcarn remained.
The Eternal Winter has begun...
Run by the Arch-Mage Vardaen
The rest of the day is spent sorting out the home. Bedrooms are pick, gear is unloaded and some additional shopping to stock the house is completed. You learn during the course of it that Torias was hoping to get himself some better armor, but his share of the coin isn't enough right now.
For the next few days you settle into the town, and your new home. The talk all about town is the coming of Namdrin's Carnival, the arrival of winter, the lingering effects of the Blackscour Taint and the loss of Elara's Halfway House for orphans. You spend time helping Edgrin with the kids, and generally getting to know the town of Falcon's Hollow. Most people are friendly enough to you, you did save them from the Taint after all.
Laurel comes and pays you a visit in your new place, as does the Sherrif Deldrin Baleson. Both are happy to have you settling in and both offer their attention on the kids and wish you well.
September 21st
Unfortunately you are about to have a small run in with Boss Payden "Pay Day" Teedum. You are just finishing up breakfast on the second day after moving into house when there is a loud obnoxious knocking on the door. The thick nasally voice of "Pay Day" can be heard shouting through the door. "Hey, open up this door and let me in."
You may consider the map of Falcon's Hollow IC knowledge now. You've been in town long enough with a guide, Celevan, and have taking the tour of the town. There is a nice tab on the Info Sheet as well with Places in Falcon's Hollow.

"Mr. Teedum," Celvan says, opening the door. "Please come in. I'm sorry things are still a bit of a mess. But as you know, we're just settling in." Despite Pay Day's belligerence, the elohim aasimar tries to be polite.
Torrak rushes to the door, only to find Celevan standing in the shadow of Pay Day's presence. I fear we're going to wind up killing that guy some day. the slightly perturbed dwarf thinks to himself as he gauges the lumbering oaf's intentions.

Dreams waits silently by, wondering what PayDay wants. She idly wonders why he finds it so difficult to show even a modicum of politeness, particularly to people his own boss might feel some gratitude to for saving his son's life.
Syrronas takes a moment of self indulgent thought of making payday more friendly with a little magical compulsion. The urge almost gets the better of him but Celevan's unwillingness to lower himself to payday's level brings him to the main room without wanting to bespell the foreman.
Pay Day huffs and puffs and barges his way in as Celevan opens the door for him. He snorts at everyone. "This ain't no social call." As if in great pain he draws a large sack from off his belt. "Its payday for you lot." He tosses the sack onto the table with the tell tale signs of agreat number of coins in it. "Compliments from da Master Kreed for services rendered for his son." He wipes his nose with his sleeve.
Reward time from Kreed. 1000 gold total.

Dreams bows politely to Payday. "Thank you very much," she says with impeccable manners. "And please pass on our thanks to Mr. Kreed. Now I'm sure you're a very busy man, so we wouldn't want to hold you up with small talk." She gestures toward the door, inviting him to leave.
