Act 7 - No Shortage of Peril

The Age of Magic is ended, Bhall, the Goddess of Fire, has succumbed to the whispers of Agares and fallen into Hell. Her worshipers and creations driven mad, and fire, which has been a powerful ally to man, has turned against him. Each good god was charged with the opposition of an evil god. Bhall was responsible for balancing Mulcarn, the God of Winter. Finding himself unopposed Mulcarn has broken The Compact and moved into Creation.

Creation was on the verge of another open war between the gods, that which they had outlawed with The Compact. To keep that from happening a deal was struck and the gods agreed that one god would enter Creation to challenge Mulcarn. That was Sucellus, the God of Nature. The two gods battled across the face of Creation, entire civilizations still recovering from the Burning Skies that marked the fall of Bhall were destroyed by their power. In the end Sucellus was killed and Mulcarn remained.

The Eternal Winter has begun...

Secret Laboratory: Round 4

Post by Vardaen » Tue Mar 27, 2018 2:18 pm

Round 4 Celevan 19, Drak 19, Torias 15, Crepitus 12, Dreams 11, Braedon 6
Celevan moves around the table with some alacrity before the golem and turn on him. His adamantine morning star cracks into the side of the thing splitting armor and cracking bone and smushing flesh. He hits it for full strength and really starts to mess it up. Then his hound leaps, biting on an armor plate, but it drives its claw up into its spine and rips that out! As he yanks it out of the back of the golem the whole thing teeters and totters and then crashes to the ground inert!

The Crepitus screams out in terror as the golem drops dead, but Torias....
Celevan: Move [AoO: 16 Miss], Attack Golem (Flank): 25 hit for 9 - 0 (DR 5/Adamantine!) = 9 Dmg
Hound: Full Attack (Flank): 11 Miss, 27 Hit for 11 = DEAD

Standard: sponteneous convert "Eagles' Splendor" into Cure moderate wound and cast on Drak - heals 2d8+7

Braedon cries out, "I can't see!" Staying put, he uses the sleeve of his forearm in an attempt to wipe away the blood from his eyes. The audible thud of the massive golem is not lost on the ranger, but the fear of not being able to see is winning the moment.
Number Two: "You are number six."
Number Six: "I am not a number, I am a free man!"
Number Two: "Muh ha ha ha ha!"

Secret Laboratory: Round 4-5

Round 4 Celevan 19, Drak 19, Torias 15, Crepitus 12, Dreams 11, Braedon 6
Round 5 Celevan 19, Drak 19, Torias 15, Crepitus 12, Dreams 11, Braedon 6
Torias sighs in relief as the golem drops. He motions with a hand and his spirit ally moves to flank with the devil. He himself moves and touches Drak and pushes healing power through the man's body. Drak's eyes flutter away, and river of bleeding stops. He's alive, but still in bad bad shape.

Braedon is shouting about being blinded as he clears away the blood and is relieved to find out its only temporary. He wonders however if that's the case, because he can't see the Crepitus, for the badly wounded devil has vanished once more, and gone invisible.

Dreams...
Torias: Move Spirit Ally to Flank, Cure on Drak: +16 HPS to Drak, Alive and Awake (still prone) @ 9 total HPs
Braedon: Can see again
Crepitus: Invisible

Dreams hisses with frustration as the devil disappears again. She climbs on top of the bench, dropping her sword at her feet again, while drawing an arrow and knocking it her bow. She prays as she waits for the crepitus to reappear.
Move Action: Climb on top of the bench 1N of me.
Ready Action: Swift Action: Cast Fire of Entanglement
Ready Action: Standard Action: Attack with bow vs. crepitus.

Readied Actions will be triggered when the crepitus reappears and I know where to shoot.

Does climbing on top of the bench qualify as a Move Action or a 5' step? I'm guessing the former. If it's a 5' step, covert the Standard Action to a Full Round Action, giving me two attacks.

I'm hoping Fire of Entanglement will interfere with the crepitus' ability to fly, causing him to take falling damage too.

Ooops! Glitterdust!
Dreams hisses but then realizes the Crepitus is covered in glitterdust, and while the devil itself can't be seen the outline of sparkling gold is very visible. She traces it as it rises up and is moving for the stairs. She puts a single arrow into its belly. The power smites the evil creature and it falls to the ground with a thud and a scream of final life before dying.
Dreams: Shoot 27 hit (smite) 11 Dmg - 0 DR = DEAD

Dreams lowers her bow and says, "Well, that's taken care of." She looks around the room. "How is everyone? We should get everyone reasonably healed up and then go deliver the Baron to the General. The sooner we get this whole affair over with, the better."

"If there was any doubt that the baron was a force for evil," Celevan observes, "this put that doubt to rest. Clearly we was hand-in-glove with the forces of evil, and the town is in a much better place without him - or his evil servants - around."

"Torias," he adds, "do you think you can find anything tainted by the evil of the devil in here? I'd just as soon this place be cleansed before anyone else comes in here."

Torias herds anyone who is hurt together and channels healing energy into everyone. If anyone is still hurt then, he does it again. "Look around to see if you can find anything incriminating or useful."he suggests.
