Chimera Cove: Thank You
Nate is grateful for the fire and the warm blanket, and repeatedly communicates his thanks. It starts to get awkward after the first several times, so he abruptly stops speaking to prevent himself from repeating again. He has been out on his own for a long time before joining this new party, and isn't used to others doing something for him.

Chimera Cove: Thank You
"Your hospitality is most welcomed." Lineos takes a seat by the fire with Nate silently enjoying the warmth and food.

Chimera Cove: Thank You
Erthic, settled into a chair comfortably shakes his head at Dreams, "The man that did this is named Poltur, he's a son of a bitch if you ever saw one. He used to be one of us, grandson of a hero of Chimera Cove. He's a greedy man, with no soul, no loyalty. He's gone and getten himself allied with some bad men from up north and he plans to take over the town."
There is a look passed between the three elders, and Targas even, you get the feeling there is more they aren't telling you.

Chimera Cove: Thank You
Dreams says, "That's why we came--we dealt with the bad men up north and found a letter from their leader, saying he would send troops here. We weren't sure if the troops had already been dispatched or not. It looks like they won't be now, so that's good news. But if Poltur is still loose, he may be able to cause more trouble." She looks around at the leaders and Targas, hoping that is hint enough that they should share more if they know more.

Re: Act 9 - Chimera Cove
Nate keeps a close eye on the elders as Dreams speaks, trying to find more supporting evidence for his instinct that they are hiding something. Perhaps guilt or embarrassment if there is something that would make them look accountable if discovered, or on the other hand fear of repercussions if they let something slip.

"I think we should try to catch this Poltur and give him Justice. We need to know more about him and his plans." Torias adds, pondering.

Re: Act 9 - Chimera Cove
The elders glance around at one another, Erthic comments, "We are grateful you came to our aid. We were worried you were those reinforcements Poltur sent for. Hearing you dealt with his northern contacts makes me feel so much better."
Targus looks at the trio of leaders, "I know some of our town's history, but you know more. I think if they want to help us we should let them."
Cirllia nods to Targus, "Yes I agree, and since Poltur has managed to get himself onto the Isles it only makes sense we have to do something about it. Something that requires heroes."
The others seem to agree, and Joran clears his throat as he begins a tale. "Though the two are no longer at war, tensions remain high between Icatia and the Malakim Tribes. For two powerful merchants on opposing sides of the border, this feud long ago became personal. For years before Malakim was reduced to sand, both sides hired pirates and buccaneers to raid each other’s ships and drive trade into their own borders. Unsatisfied with these tit-for-tat strikes, the Malakim merchant nearly bankrupted himself creating a new, necromantic maritime weapon: an undead dragon turtle called the Terraken, bound to an amulet which allowed his captains to see through its eyes and guide its movements.
With its fearsome claws and ability to stave in the hulls of even the mightiest frigates, the Terraken
became the scourge of Icatian waterways, smashing ships and sending their crews to the watery deeps. On his deathbed, the merchant Gavut Wyrvale of Icatia passed his business to his eldest son, but gave his younger son a more important task: to save his family’s livelihood by becoming a pirate among pirates.
The son set off in the middle of the night with a hired mage and, with the aid of his family’s considerable fortune, built a small concealed port within the islands off Chimera Cove, linking huge natural caverns with spell-formed canals. The son took the name Pelastour, and, commanding the black-hulled Scythe and sailing covertly out of Chimera Cove, quickly became the scourge of the Inner Sea, sinking pirates and Malakar merchant vessels alike, yet always waiting for the Terraken to come for him. When it finally did, Pelastour lured the marauder back to Chimera Cove and into his cavern-port, where it smashed his ship to bits. Though it quickly killed most of his crew, Pelastour and his wizard cohort managed to flee through the canals, finally meeting their ends in a deep cavern amidst a powerful whirlpool summoned by the mage and a bound water elemental. However, in his death Pelastour achieved victory, as once the whirlpool’s water drained away, the Terraken found itself bottled up in a deep oubliette, unable to climb or swim out. When the creature’s commander attempted to enter herself and recover the creature, she fell prey to one of the many traps Pelastour had left behind, and so the Terraken’s fate remained unknown to those back in Malakar.
Icatia and Malakar both lost a great deal in the months of this conflict, and piracy subsided afterwards. The Malakim assumed Pelastour had destroyed the Terraken, as the magical screening of Chimera Cove made it undetectable. Pelastour’s son and his few surviving crew remained in Chimera Cove to guard its secret, founding the fishing settlement for which the cove would become known, and the Terraken remained trapped in its prison. Centuries passed before Poltur, Pelastour’s greedy descendant, decided to sell the secret of Chimera Cove and the Terraken’s existence to the Calabim and the traitorous Baron Vendikon rather than spend his life watching a desolate bit of seashore.
Poltur’s first expedition commanding the baron’s troops in search of the Terraken was a disaster, nearly sinking their boat and forcing him to swim into the concealed port. My guess is, he may have learned what he would require for success, and sent word back to the baron with a request for additional resources. Which is where you come into the tale."

Re: Act 9 - Chimera Cove
Dreams face looks grave. "Well, we dealt with Baron Vendikon, so Poltur is likely receiving no help from him, unless we somehow beat any troops Vendikon sent before his fall here. Still, if Poltur could command the Terraken, he could do great harm on his own. And the forces of evil are growing stronger--the Winter God is seeking to extend his grip in the world and supporting all manner of evil to do so. Poltur may find other allies. I think you are right that we need to stop this. Do you still preserve any maps of the mazes Palestour created? Even partially preserved ones would help."

Now that they are in familiar tactical territory, the gunslinger gets more involved and animated. "Yes! Maps or detailed descriptions would be extremely useful. And any information on Pelastour's traps, so we do not fall prey to them ourselves."

Humbly Lineos approaches the elders, "I am honored to help you accomplish this task, and i shall swiftly help my companions achieve this for you."
The tengu nods his agreement regarding maps and further information.
