Melvust holds his breath as he discover the meltabomb. There would have been serious damage to the gellar fields. He wonders how they could own such a dangerous weapon and how they could get it on the ship.

He carefully removes the bomb and secures it and then its about time to clean up the mess and to inform the captain.

First he shuts down the annoying alarm then he orders the crew to move the dead bodies into a separate room for later identification and then to clean up the blood.

"Captian, the thread has been eliminated and the gellar fields is secured. It seems that they were crewmates and they had a meltabomb!"
Is a meltabomb a rare thing or is it common? If the ships arsenal contains also those type of bomb he would order a investigation to count if one is missing.

Melvust has a look at the bomb and sees that it is still charged. Moving it might set it off instantly. He needs to disarm it before it can be safely moved! A red light starts blinking on the mechanism. Melvust has a very bad feeling about this and knows he must act fast.

Argghhhhh......!
The little red blinking light causes beads of prespiration on Melvust forehead.
Quickly he takes and overlook on the bomb as well as the remote trigger for any hint how to proceed it. As he has no other choice he slowely starts to disarm it.
Are there any weapons specialist on board who could help me out?
Otherwise I'll start disarming it, don't have a choice do I ? ;)

No idea what type of skill is needed but I guess Tech-Priest is a good starting point?

Carefully, Melvust unscrews parts of the bomb and tries to understand the mechanism. He is no expert at bombs, but he knows technology. Finally, he examines the wires there. There is a blue one and a red one. He decides to cut the red one and...
... the red light stops blinking. The bomb is disarmed!
He gives the bomb to an aide and soon finds out that indeed one of the two meltabombs on the ship is missing - the mutineers must have stolen it. Meanwhile a group of crew clean up the mess and the tech-priest who was a hostage goes off, trying to find new personnel for the Gellar field controls.
There is a demolition skill. But you "only" have tech-use. You can use that, but you do not get the bonus.
So: rolled 26 vs 50, success. Phew.

After everything is finally solved and cleaned up Melvust allows himself to close his eyes for a short moment and takes a deep breath. "This could have ended fatally" he thinks to him self.
But he doesn't allow himself to lean back, instead he moves over to the rooms with the dead bodies and tries to identify the mutineers.

And he also orders to double the guards to the ship weapons arsenal!

Melvust gets a message from the Captain:

"Good," the Lord-Captain says to Melvust. "Good work. Get the ship in position. We are trying to get back to the shuttle. Keep in contact ... wait, a what?!? GET THAT THING OFF MY SHIP!"

An armsman says: "Well, it is not my authority to change guard deployment. This is Lady Thornhallow's business. But I would not like to be the people who did not guard the bomb well enough. Probably she will have them executed. But I will send a message to her room which she will find as soon as she is back on the ship. I can get more guards at the gellar field, if you wish, sir!"

Melvust interviews a few people and finds the mutineers are armsmen, guards who somehow managed to steal the bomb and get into the gellar field controls.

"No worries Captain, the I've successfully disarmed the meltabomb. It was one of our own! I'll get the ship into positon and will report everything once you get back on the ship"

Said so, he does/coordinates whatever it needs to get the ship into position and the crew back on it.

With that, Melvust gets on his way to the bridge, where he arrives after 15 minutes. He meets the seneshall Nathin Tsanthos there, who is in charge of the ship while the Captain is away.

"Did you clear the xeno attack, Melvust?" the old scholar asks.

"Yes Sir, but it turned out that they were some mutineers" Melvust responds to the question.
"I already informed the captain about the details. He has ordered to bring the ship into position for their return as they are on their way back."

Melvust does not intend to tell too much about the incident.

"Tell me more about it, please. We probably need to do more for crew morale. So who was it and what did they want?" The old scholar looks at Melvust intently.
